dorien nooo.. don't think like that! maybe they're just too busy with the deadlines ;) maybe you can come to their office and leave your cv there.. or if you have a friend who's already working in fashion industry (no matter it's your 1st or 2nd or 3rd degree friend), ask for their help! networks really help.. GOOD LUCK!!

I've looked everywhere for this but I'm pretty sure it is non existant!

You just need to apply directly to companies.. or if you're at University doing a fashion degree, your tutors will know as some companies will email Universities asking for students.. and sometimes paid jobs.

For the internships that are offering spots for Fall semesters, is it too late to apply? Well really, my question is when is it too early/too late to apply for any internships? :flower:

i just found out i have got a four month internship at Seventeen magazine, i just have to confirm the placement, is the honestly a good internship to take?

:woot:, you should get what you can take.
Seventeen is good,After all it's only four months

agree with ysljunkie, get what you can take, besides it'll probably be a great experience where you'll learn so much! imagine how many other applicants you beat in order to get this offer! congrats!

@katherine: I was wondering the same thing..are you going to go ahead and apply for fall internships?

I think I will, it doesn't hurt to try. Though part of me thinks it's a little late, no?

Was anyone ever able to have a part time/night job while having an internship at the same time? I know when you have an internship you really want to impress the higher-ups and really give it your all and work hard, but it can be really difficult to live somewhere as expensive as NYC and have an UNpaid internship. I wonder if I ever got an internship if I'd be able to handle working at Barnes & Noble or something at night? Any advice/input?

^You can try it. To be honest, it's hard to work in high fashion one minute, alongside some of the most influential artmakers of the era, all day long & then pour coffee or ring up customers at night. It's too much of a contrast. If you could get a job in retail at a small boutique, that might work better. I'm just speaking from experience.

i know someone who's doing 2 internships atm! although she is tired all the time she values the experience and wouldn't have it any other way. :flower: i'm sure it's very hard but you can have an internship and a job at the same time.

I'm interning at a fashion pr company... and believe me i used to work at American Eagle Outfitters before... then once i got that internship.. it jsut didnt feel right to go back to AEO (even if it was for extra cash)!

working along side important people and being part of the industry just isnt the same when your ringing up customers and being surrounded by horrid clothes that are over 2 seasons out of style lol.

just like shirleebee says.. try to find something thats in the niche otherwise youll feel like its all a waste. :p (as for me im doing graphic design work on the side ;] )
