All About Your Jeans...

i've been lucky, i'm able to wear a range of different types of jeans from different brands. i've got sevens which are alrite - but they flatten my butt like i mentioned before. Citizens of Humanity are really nice and snug without being too restrictive. and i would say, are a better deal than Sevens
Hudsons are pretty good fit and almost the right length for me. I have a pair of Tag+ jeans which have really really cute maltese cross button studs. i love the details on their jeans. but so far, Genetic jeans have been my latest favourites as the fit and wash are superb. nothing to complain about at all!
for skinny jeans i have Taverniti So Janis which end rihgt below my ankle bone. also a great fit for me.

Silver brand jeans

i remember when i was younger (like 13-16) i had a few pairs that i adored and wore again and again and again.

i'm thinking about getting a new pair.

what have been your experiences?

edit: i mean silver like the brand, not the colour  heh.

Wow. This brings me back. I also remember all the girls wearing them in 8th grade - high school. Because you could buy them based on inch measurements so they'd fit better. And they were stretchy. Flattered the tush too. I dunno. I liked them then but I haven't seen or thought about them in a while. But I say, if you find some that flatter you and are comfortable there is no reason not to nab a pair. Who cares if you wore them in middle school. If you like em, you like em. :flower:

they were very tush-flattering! haha. and i recall them being very comfortable as well.

perhaps i'll check them out.

sorry to resurrect an old thread but with my last two pairs of jeans, when I have bought them they have been really quite tight and now they've stretched so much that they are way to big for me!! Anyone know why this happens? Am I buying the wrong size or something? I kind of thought that maybe because they were too small at first they've had to stretch more and as a result don't shrink back when I wash them. It's just so annoying!!!

i think it's always good to get them soo tight, keeping in mind dressing room mirrors are wrong...as long as you can button them.
they stretch and spread like wildfire. i think it's just the nature of stretch jeans..
that's my 2 cents. i used to feel weird coming out of the dressing room, with the sales girls looking at me, so id get the bigger, but now i do the opposite and dont even show them

^^ Yes, agree about the stretching.

I was in Nordstrom's trying on Sevens a few weeks ago. They fit just the way i wanted--fitted, but with some crinkling at the knee--but the SA told me that they were too big for me and that I should go down a size.

According to her, Sevens especially will stretch out after an hour or so. I imagine this might apply to any stretch denim. And maybe even other brands too. Like APCs are known to stretch by quite a lot. i think the rule of thumb with APCs is to go down by 2 sizes from your normal. :flower:

This is off topic, and very negative, and lots of people will disagree with me, but:
Can I please say that I HATE the term "skinny jeans"!
They are tapered. I like the jeans but the name seriously bothers me.

It also annoys me when people say that only skinny people can wear "skinny" jeans. I sometimes think really skinny girls look kind of dumb in them. The whole point of their sexiness is that the woman wearing them is bold enough to flaunt her curves like that. If you're thighs are no bigger around than your calves, then your jeans are nothing special. There has to be a visible taper to them.
They can work on a boyish figure if she wears them the way boys do: looser t-shirt/lumberjack shirt, sneakers/flip-flops/boys dress shoes... not with heels. Especially not if you're in high school and look like you're in junior high.

Not all skinny jeans are tapered, and not all tapered jeans are skinny. :flower:

I agree that currently, the terms are often being used to describe the same thing, but I own examples of what you might call "carrot jeans" (loose thigh, tapered leg) and skinny drainpipe (narrow but straight leg) jeans.

quick question: I bought a pair of Joe's jeans a few weeks ago. They were the socialite style, I think there are a few pictures of Nicole Richie wearing them. Really lovely jeans & comfortable. However, upon my third time wearing them the back of my thigh ripped open. These jeans are not tight, in fact they were lose. And I was not climbing a fence or anything, I was simply walking around my apartment. Has this happened to anyone else before? This is my first pair of Joe's Jeans so I'm not too familiar with their quality. Is there some way I can return them or something? They were close to $200. I wouldn't mind buying a pair if they ripped after a year or so of wear, but this was my third time wearing the jeans. I had them on a total of maybe 9 hours.

^ Those sound defective, I would try to return/exchange them for another pair.

Damn. I should've sized down in my Citizens, they've stretched out and they were like a drainpip so the fit was crucial in the jean. Oh damn. Im so disappointed.

I friggin love my Stitch's though, I LOVE THEM. I need a few more pairs.

Currently, my favourite jeans are dark straight-leg Citizens of Humanity and 7 for All Mankind, they fit me so perfectly.

I absolutely love my COH jeans and Ralph Lauren jeans
burberry looks great aswell (but the pricetag (320 euro's) :S..) as do prada jeans

my favourite styles would be bootcut in various washes except for light shades for a relaxed casual look and the slimmer straight leg jeans in dark colours(not super narrow because my thighs are my problem area) for more dressed up/nights out.

I am a deals shopper so I don't own an all designer-denim wardrobe...i do mix and match cheap and expensive jeans though. My favrouite jeans would be AE for lower end since they're affordable, fit me well and offer different lengths which helps a lot since I'm only 5'3. More expensive brands I like would be Taverniti SO and the Evisu-Puma 'skinny' jeans which are not tapered. I actually started a thread on these recently even though they've been out since Feb but no one seemed interested:huh: Anyways i'm surprised because they actually fit very well and are flattering!
I like to pair boot cut with sneakers the most and i love skinny straight leg jeans cos they actually show the shoe! Flats, tucked into boots, heels, converse ...i can pair straight leg jeans with anything!

i have been obsessed with my Citizens Fayes for more than a year now. i'm into classic, tailored looks so the trouser cut is totally ME

i must be living in another stratosphere, i have't seen bootcut anything in ages. the only people you ever see wearing them are the "wall street" types on their day off or " tourists" in nyc..

the truth about my jeans:

i think i have around 10 pairs, but i only wear one on a regular basis. these are my medium/dark wash, bootleg lucky jeans. classic, simple, easy addition to my outfit.

i also have a pair of black diesel jeans with a skinny leg i wear every so often. but not really, i much prefer bootcut just because i feel they're more flattering. whenever i put the black jeans on i feel very . . . nineties, which is fine if that's what i'm going for.

i also have a few other dark wash jeans, some trendy pairs from the gap, and a gray pair of calvin klein bootcut jeans . . . but i just don't wear these. i guess i prefer simple jeans that just don't say much of anything at all. i feel too trendy in anything else.

i have so many pairs of jeans, but hands down, my tsubi's (and australian company) are THE MOST COMFORTABLE and they definately fit me like no other pair of jeans ever have. they're also the most flattering, so all around id consider them the best pair of jeans ive ever owned! i recommend them to everyone :P
