Andy Warhol & The Factory

gosh, wow that makes so more sense, you seem really intelligent..i would love another factory era:heart: xx KhaoticKharma who was your favourite member of the factory?xx

Thank you :flower:

I personally have always found something haunting in Viva's face when she takes a picture, it's like something resonates, which you never see in celebs and hardly ever see in fashion models... and of course, Candy Darling and International Velvet were simply stunning.

I am probably the only one who didn't know this until now, but

Candy Darling was born a MAN?!?!?!

Seriously, Candy Darling was probably prettier than most women. She died from complications from a (then) illegal sex change. The hormones she received eventually gave her cancer, and she died in her late twenties.

Candy was always my favourite, she was breath taking-just divine!
And when she died that was supposedly the only time Andy cried.

I love this thread. The superstars were all so gorgeous, although some are more scary than gorgeous I guess, in their unique ways - Candy Darling is

I just love Viva!! I think she is just fabulous. I did not realize that her daughter is an actress named Gabby Hoffman. I read she wrote some kind of childrens books when Gabby was a little girl and they lived at the Chelsea Hotel called "Gabby at the Chelsea".

yeah it was quite fun reading her info on imdb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000451/
Viva also has an actress daughter called Alexandra Auder, who was born in 1971, and Gaby was born in 1982, quite a gap between them...

Glad to see people still keeping this thread going. I love love love Andy... almost obsessively, heh. The Factory was so outrageous and unconventional but also very dark and tragic, just incredibly fascinating...
Thank you Emil for the VF video  must have been nostalgic...
What is Gerard Malanga doing these days? Anybody know?

I heard her song Mac Daddy. It's going to haunt me forever now :ermm:

Her book was good though...I just finished.

I just saw this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0163526/
though someone is speaking german over the original sound, so it was very annoying.
loads of old interviews and such, so if anyone is interested in Andy´s life, this is a good movie to see...
I downloaded it, so that´s how I somehow managed to get a german version...
I think you can buy it on dvd on ebay...

Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side

Does anyone know who he is talking about in that verse?

Holly came from miami f.l.a.
Hitch-hiked her way across the u.s.a.

Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her leg and then he was a she
She says, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
Said, hey honey, take a walk on the wild side

Candy came from out on the island
In the backroom she was everybodys darling

But she never lost her head
Even when she was given head
She says, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
Said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
And the coloured girls go

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo)

Little joe never once gave it away
Everybody had to pay and pay

A hustle here and a hustle there
New york city is the place where they said
Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
I said hey joe, take a walk on the wild side

Sugar plum fairy came and hit the streets
Lookin for soul food and a place to eat

Went to the apollo
You should have seen him go go go
They said, hey sugar, take a walk on the wild side
I said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
All right, huh

Jackie is just speeding away
Thought she was james dean for a day

Then I guess she had to crash
Valium would have helped that dash
She said, hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
I said, hey honey, take a walk on the wild side
And the coloured girls say

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
(doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo)
