Are stars the new skulls ?

owls nuff said ...stars are a bit too tacky i think , you look like a wizard or something
I kind a like them in the wizard-y way.. Merlin :magic:
- Actually I really would like a blue over-sized t or dress of some sorts with white stars, fun..
I would not pair it with something red though  :ninja:

I know quite a few who has a star tattooed on their foot. I liked it at first, but it's becoming too trendy and overexposed here. :ninja:

I've seen stars E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E.! I went to get another tattoo last week and you wouldn't believe how many women got stars tatoo'd on their wrist, behind ears, and ankles.

I've wanted a small shooting star tat for years now on the small of my lower back....but now that I may get one, I know I'll look like I'm following the trends.....

I have yet to find anything appreciative about skulls. I always say that skulls are basically just sucking up to punk rock and skating. Nothing stylish about them. Even some of the cutest fashion items for ladies usually bring up these skull and crossbone designs. I... I'm sorry. I see nothing stylish or interesting about skulls. Just like how I feel about Hummers (except the Hummer H1).

Now stars are a little different, however. You can visit my Myspace ( http://www.myspace.com/johnbmarine ) to see that I have NO problem with stars. Stars are a bit different because they can actually be fashionable (compared to the Goth and Skate-happy skulls). Though the stars in my blue and gold background (by the way, I designed the background myself) are more realistic, the usual five-point stars are popular and common. It just all depends on how they are worn and how stars are adorned on clothes. We need to say sayonara to skulls.

By the way, non-tacky star designs would also help.

Stars are everywhere. I've seen a lot on jackets/hoodies, on denim, leggings, dresses, t-shirts & on jewellery. They seem to have taken over from both skulls & polka dots

Saw this on a mannequin today with an all black outift and was suprised how chic it looked, always thought stars were a bit cheesy.

Ive always like stars and have collected stuff with stars (not in a crazy cat lady colllecting sort of way though) for over ten years

I have a star tattoo on my wrist that I have had for over 10 years.

It can borderline on tacky if its overdone. I dont own any clothing with stars, I dont know if I could pull that off.

Stars just make me think of scene kids.

I think they can look good in the form of silver or metallic-colored star earrings or charm bracelets(a whole line of celestial earrings isn't a bad idea), but other than that I think they should be left alone.

It is a tricky task to find stars that look good rather than cheesy. I prefer then on jewellery but I really love the scarf posted by sundaygirl. Stars are best in small doses (although I will feel proud of anyone who does the 'nothing is going to get between me and my stars' full-on merlin look)

I'm not particularly fond of stars. Of course, I was never fond of skulls either. Aside from the fact that wearing them might make you look like you're following one of those "rebellious" *snort* subcultures *hides summer hoodie*, I just don't really see it as being chic.

Of course, overall, I've become bored with repeated patterns on clothes. Then a lonely star seems a bit weird. I'm sure they can be pulled off by subtle execution.

Nevertheless, until I've been convinced, leave the stars to Macy's.

i definitely think that this star trend is very american and has got to do with the upcoming elections..

I think it will catch on. The life cycle for many trends has started with instant dislike. Why this is? I don't know. Could be that the first instinct is to react harshly to things that appear out of their element. Example - stars should only be on flags. Well, maybe. Maybe not.

I love stars! I'm sure a big part of it is to do with the upcoming American elections, especially with the Chanel variation of the American flag.

I still love hearts. I'm a sucker for anything with hearts on it. Stars and skulls may come and go, but hearts are forever.
