Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2012

How sad. After the disaster that was SS 12, I certainly did not think this is the direction it would go. Thought it couldn't get any lower. It did. I miss the old Balenciaga...

WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS?! It's so wrong in many ways. The proportions are horrible, the prints are horrendous, the colors are sickening and even the models look bad! The collection seems extremely outdated and not in a nice way. It's not retro with a modern twist; it just looks like it belongs to another decade and has no place in ours. Not to mention who the hell is going to buy this and think they look good in it?!

I used to be a big fan of Ghesquière's work at Balenciaga but he's become more and more disappointing. Bring back the elegance!

I like the pieces once you look at it individually, particularly the trousers and the beige wool coat, personally speaking i feel that the reason this is a car-crash is down to the styling, i find it hard to believe that Marie-Amélie Sauvé styled this.

I'm impressed. Not in a good way.
But clothes definitely aren't as bad as styling.

what is this? an ugly reminder of the late 80s/early 90s?

everything ought to be burned, the only piece i'd let pass would be the beige jacket in look 4.

Separately I think the pieces look okay, but thrown together it just resembles one big mess. In that sense it greatly represents what the '80s were about, but I don't think that's such a good thing.

most of the pieces (especially that "dress" in the first pic, and the grey long skirt and ankle boots in 4th) really make me cringe, I can't see anyone willing to pay serious money on this mess....

Indeed. The shoes and and most of the pieces are ok, but the the way they put it together is really disastrous. Plus those zebra tights are making me sick.

Amazing! Nicolas Ghesquière knows renew without losing the characteristics of a woman wearing Balenciaga!

Although this is tragically ugly, I have a feeling if it was branded Versace the reviews would be kinder.

But I think someone with deep pockets will love being the only girl in the world wearing it, so I guess that's what Balenciaga is aiming for these days.
