Best mens leather jacket?

Yeah totally.. i thought it was the Ann Dem jacket when i saw it...

however the leather is completely different..

..this one is heavier..

and it is cut way slimmer than the Ann Dem one..

Faust, I got the jacket for $2500ish. The seller told me he got it a while ago at a private boutique in Italy. It's being inspected by customs right now in Chicago. I only wish I could travel to Europe just to shop, but as you know, being a college student is like a job, and I don't have much time else for anything. I was also wondering, who produces better leather, Ann Dem or CP? Or does it simply depend on what kind of leather you are looking for?

Cool - it's amazing how pieces like that hold value (the pictures are definitely mine, I know my furniture dammit ). Well, good luck with it - it's a stunner.

I think the latter is the correct assesment between Ann D and CDiem (I assume that's what you meant?) - Ann D tends to produce extremely light leather, whole CDiem's has more weight to it. Both tend to use treatments. I like both.

Well it's kinda strange right? The photos are yours Faust, but the jacket he bought is a 46 while yours is a 50.... semi-fishy isn't it?

Ann D. leather doesn't really do it for me all that much... as far as I have seen to be honest. It can be super thin which is a technological feat, but I think results in a jacket that can feel sort of cheap. I like leather pieces that have at least a bit of weight to them. The DH leather jacket on your couch as well as the other one from the Luster campaign/runway (I do still want that one... ah... if it would only show up on Y or ebay...) pretty much epitomize what I think the ideal leather jacket is.

The guy might have just poached the pictures ages ago and kept them on his harddrive, and didn't bother taking new ones. You know these DH guys, they are kind of crazy :P

Hahaha, you're funny Albert, you were the middleman for the transaction that took place between me and Shawn (the seller). You even vouched for Shawn's excellent reputation.
Anyway, the jacket arrived this morning. It is a size 46 as promised, so I suppose it wasn't really your jacket after all Faust. It is in impeccable condition as promised. Here are some pics.

Thanks, I also had to apply a bit of Pecard cos of the leather. It's perfect now.

Congrats on the jacket purchase. I was thinking that Shawn was selling a different Luster jacket (the one done in scratched up leather)... having never seen the jacket myself or even photos. He probably used Faust's photos since the jacket was in Japan while he was in Australia...

It's a HOT piece! That and the other campaign luster leather jacket would be the only two DH pieces I'd probably still want right now from past seasons.

I've been eyeing this jacket on Yoox...

What do you all think? I know it will fit me like a glove (as does all CNH outerwear), but I don't know anything about the quality of CNH leather; though I imagine it to be excellent.

hehe sorry man :D
No worries, my only hope is that the jacket will do even less for the rest of the population, so I can snatch it up during an end-of-the season sale... :ninja: :D

It varies - my CN jacket is 6 years old and the leather has kept up amazingly (I beat it up too) - it is thin, yet sturdy. But I've also seen jackets that are pretty shabby.

Albert, I understand what you are saying about leather... and I am sort of happy that my photos are becoming iconic

duke, you're a lucky man, that's a freaking awesome jacket! Does it fit like a 46 blazer or tighter?

I don't have any dior blazers, the only ones I have are from Gucci, Boss, and Hermes. I got all of them tailored for me (although off the rack from a size 46), so from that standpoint, the luster jacket fits just about the same- very snug from the top half, and a bit of room at the bottom (like an inch or two), although that is easily fixed with the belt that came with the jacket. It definetely fits me better than the off the rack blazers (without alterations) in sz 46.
