I can't say I was keen on all of the metallics - they looked good under the tailoring for sure, but the more solidly metallic looks just weren't for me. I'm in love with the prints he used though, on the long shirts and on the amazing bomber jackets! The red printed one was seriously beautiful, I'm in love with it.
I'm choosing to totally ignore the socks and sandals personally. I just can't.
On the fence about this collection. Agree with the posters above about those metallics, especially the socks with sandals! Blerg! It's also a bit of a faux pas for a Spring-Summer collection to feature tweeds, especially from a British brand. Otherwise the prints are absolutely lovely as are the bomber jackets and those shirts. Adore some of the jackets (especially the beige rain coat over the metallic yellow trousers.)
While metallics is not something I'd wear I thought they were a breath of fresh air throughout the collection, I mean a designer's gotta have a little fun here and there! Aside from that, the suits were impeccable, the prints were amazing and that blue metallic bomber jacket towards the end.. I'd give a kidney for it.
As a cohesive all, i really enjoyed this collection. those overlong shirts will sell in arabic countries, i chose to ignore those metallic sandals with socks (horrible. just horrible. when will they stop?), it feels very fresh.
and i might be in the minority, but i'm feeling those metallics.
this look (minus those gold sandals, imagine a pair of sneakers instead) has the perfect look and proportions
I actually like the metallic pieces. I wouldn't wear them personally, but they remind me of early Bailey collections when he was still experimenting. I fell like he tries more in menswear than in womenswear. A lot of solid pieces, the long shirts being the hit-piece of the collection. I'm really linking this long torso silhouette emerging in Milan. The scarves prints are pretty cool too.
