Celebrity Engagement / Wedding Rings

I think Paris has a canary yellow diamond ring. I love how people here "complain" at how they are bothered when people ask how big their diamonds are. This is a thread for celeb rings.

Looks like it bothers you. Don't worry, one day you'll get a ring yourself and you'll want to tell everyone about it. :flower:

Thanks, but I am already married and a mother of 2.
Victoria BEckham. Is this the same ring that was posted before?

Then I'm sure you understand what its like to be newly engaged and being obsessed over everything about getting married including the ring. :flower:

anybody have a pic of katie holmes's engagement ring from chris klein?

I am sorry, but Paris' ring is so ugly! It's so flashy and tacky, well i guess it does reflect the person whose wearing the ring...lol. I've been following up on the poverty in other countries...and it makes me so upset to see people spend $ 3 million bucks on an ugly ring when some of the money could go to a better cause. All these celebrities spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions on ONE ring...it just makes me sad to see how many people out there are extremely needy of money...and people who have tons and tons of money (ie many celebrities) do not really help...this is all just an opinion, you dont have to agree...i just wanted to get it out there...

Actually, Paris got TWO rings from Paris Latsis. One was a canary diamond that was suppose to be a 'I love you' ring and the other was a regular diamond, her actual engagement ring.

Someone's being little greedy :innocent:.

haha, i agree about the greedy part. her canary diamond one looks just like the other rings she wears all the time so i don't see anything special about it.

btw, eternitygoddess, is your avatar john paul jones's symbol from led zeppelin?

I'm on the "wedding/engagement rings with massive diamonds are tacky (plus not very practical for everyday life)" bandwagon. What happanened to the plain gold ring? Oh yeah......Gollum took it for a swim in a sea of lava. :P

btw eternitygoddess, is your avatar john paul jones's symbol from led zeppelin

Nope. It's the triquetra, it's a symbol that's used on the show Charmed and I fell in love with it ever since I saw it. In Wiccan and Neopagan belief, the triqueta symbolizes the triple aspected goddess (maid, mother, and crone). ^_^

My current man has dropped hints that he would buy me two engagement rings. One that is BIG and the other for normal day to day wear. I won't argue. :lol:

Oh I forgot to put this in,

Christian Symbolism:
The Triquetra represents the Holy Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The unbroken circle represents eternity. The interwoven nature of the symbol denotes the indivisibility and equality of the Holy Trinity. It symbolizes that the Holy Spirit is three beings of power, honor, and glory but is indivisibly one God. Pagan/Wiccan/Goddess Symbolism:
It symbolizes life, death, and rebirth and the three forces of nature: earth, air, and water. The inner three circles represent the female element and fertility.

And then there's the freemason link as well (dun dun dun introducing the conspiracy theories)

oh, yes, i tend to associate a lot of things w/the band led zeppelin cuz i'm a HUGE fan. but i do realize it's an ancient symbol and not created by them.

thanks for all the cool info, tho, eternitygoddess. :flower:

sorry to steer so off topic...this will be my last comment on it. :blush:

anyway, anybody know what homes's ring from chris klein looked like? i've never seen a pic of it.

Some interesting info I found:
Victoria and David Beckham
The ring: A £40,000 marquise-cut solitaire diamond from Van Cleef & Arpels, bought from a jeweller’s in Manchester.

The graft: Back in 1999, Becks’ basic salary at Manchester United was £1.35 million – but that was nothing compared to his lucrative sponsorship deals. When you totted it all up, it would have taken him just 24 hours to earn the money to pay for this ring.

t.gif
track_archivelinks("MON_celebrings2"); Paul McCartney and Heather Mills
The ring: A £15,000 Indian sapphire and diamond ring.

The graft: In the year he proposed to Heather, Paul’s annual income was around £40m - making this ring the equivalent of three hours’ work.

Celebrity engagement rings
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez
The ring: A £700,000, six-carat pink solitaire diamond ring from Harry Winston.

The graft: The year he got engaged to J.Lo, Ben was already earning over £5m per movie. To earn the money to pay for this famous ring, he needed to be on screen in road-rage drama Changing Lanes for just 14 minutes.
track_archivelinks("MON_celebrings3");

Jude Law and Sienna Miller

The ring:
A £20,000 gold ring with nine diamonds set in platinum.

The graft: Jude currently makes between £4 and £5 million per film – so we calculate his ring for Sienna cost him a mere 30 seconds of Cold Mountain screen time.

Celebrity engagement rings Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin
The ring: A £25,000 diamond and platinum ring from Tiffany.

The graft: When he proposed to Coleen, young Wayne was earning £50,000 a week - so this purchase set him back about three days’ wages.

Donald Trump and Melania Krauss

The ring:
A 12-carat diamond ring from New York jewellers Graff worth £1.5m – which Donald got at the knockdown price of £700,000.

The graft: This ring came in at exactly one tenth of Donald’s annual earnings - or just over one month’s worth . But when he was accused of stinginess, the billionaire retorted: ‘Only a fool would say, “No thank you, I want to pay a million dollars more for a diamond”.’

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman
The ring: A £30,000 20-carat diamond ring.

The graft: As the co-founder of Christina's management company, Jordan is thought to earn around £100,000. So while Ms Aguilera continues to be coy about her engagement, her fiancee has spent nearly four months’ wages on a ring for her.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline
The ring: A five-carat diamond ring which cost £25,000.

The graft: As a dancer and model, Kevin is thought to earn around £35,000 a year. But it’s been reported that Britney's put him on her payroll – and even that she paid for this ring herself! If Kevin was indeed a gent, though, this ring amounted to nearly nine months of his salary.

track_archivelinks("MON_celebrings6");

Jessie Wallace and Dave Morgan
The ring: A giant diamond and emerald ring, worth £14,000 - and designed by Jessie herself.

The graft: On his policeman’s salary Dave would have spent half a year's income on Jesse’s engagement ring. Ah, bless!

track_archivelinks("MON_celebrings4");
douglas_feb05_emp_tp1.jpg
(c) Empics 2005 Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones
The ring: A £200,000, 10-carat antique diamond ring designed by Fred Leighton.

The graft: As Michael can command over £12m per movie, this little piece of bling would have required him to work for a mere two minutes of screen time.

t.gif
track_archivelinks("MON_celebrings3");
law_feb05_emp_tp1.jpg
(c) Empics 2005 Jude Law and Sienna Miller
The ring: A £20,000 gold ring with nine diamonds set in platinum.

The graft: Jude currently makes between £4 and £5m – so we calculate his ring for Sienna cost him a mere 30 seconds of Cold Mountain screen time.

^ that's funny about jude...but the ring is vintage so that's why it didn't cost that much.

:lol: That was an OT but totally hilarious comment!

I really don't care for big flashy ring. A nice size and shape is good enough for me.

Paris' ring is just like her - tacky and ostentatious.:yuk:

From a People.com feature:

"It's very age-appropriate for Katie," says jeweler Fred Leighton of the Edwardian-style, oval-shaped diamond of about five carats that Tom Cruise, 42, slipped on her finger June 17 at the Eiffel Tower. So when's the wedding? "Soon, soon," Holmes, 26, says.
