my SA just freaked me out.. she said they received info from Chanel's HD that the Jumbo classic flap will be discontinued

any1 heard anything?

I hope she' s wrong.. i'm thinking she may be confused and meant to say no jumbo bags for the prefall, fall season..

I doubt that there would be no jumbo bags, i am pretty sure she is just mistaken by something else. Cause my SA gave me a call back letting me know that the reissues will start arriving end of Feb, early March and the Jumbos will arrive in March. So i am pretty sure there is some confusion of some sort.
Having said that, there is a private Sale for Chanel in the US for two days ends tomorrow=/ people approach it

i finaly got an orginal leather cabas- ive been looking for one for ages- i just love how it looks and i don think its trendy- its a perfect everyday bag!

babybluestar - as long as the bag you are looking for is in stock, most Chanel SAs are willing to do a charge-send for you, or even check other locations and get the bag shipped to you. Good luck!

Uniq - congrats on getting the cabas - is it the larger version or the baby cabas?
Meg - I don't think the cabas is available anymore - it seems to be replaced by a handbag called "The Rock" for S/S 2008, which IMHO, is way trendier than the cabas. Looking forward to your pictures!
(I snagged a baby cabas via eBay too....trying to post pics of it when Hubby is not around )

yeah the coco cabas is not produced anymore. i think it's the BEST leather ever! i love it because it's so distressed and slouchy! even slouchier than the baby cabas. and the big baby cabas that came out later. the leather is so stiff to me.

i plan to buy one in Feb. when u go on my trip to the states
i'm from canada and i called chanel here a few months ago and the lady told me $2,475 and our tax is 14%
soooo expensive that tax kills you

Well, imho, the cabas strictly refers to the "sack-like" style produced by Chanel from 2006 till 2007.
The first cabas were offered in vinyl, leather and purple satin if I recall correctly.
It came with the CC medallion and closes at the opening with a magnetic clasp.
It was only later at the start of 2007 that the baby cabas was produced and subsequently, the larger baby cabas:

Note that most of the models above are available in different colours, e.g baby cabas is available in black, white, khaki, navy and teal.
The cabas has since been discontinued, but its replacement for 2008 is suppose to be the Melrose, which is similar to the cabas in appearance as it has very little structure as well, but is really a different bag entirely.
The medallion has been replace by a reversible CC charm.
