The very first pic with Abbey is a huge dissapointment for me. It looks exactly like one of the candids we got to see. And... a candid as a campaign? For Chanel? No thanks
Though, the shots in post #11 are rather nice - Freja looks absolutely gorgeous and I am actually quite surprised how much I like the setting (wasn't too fond of the idea when seeing the first previews). Looking forward to see the rest (and in HQ).

This is SOOO good!I love this,probably the best Chanel campaign in years!
I really don't mind Freja but Abbey is perfect for the ad
Still don't know why they decided to shot in New York but I like the location though

The shots aren't bad, but they don't differ that much from the candids and I don't see it working as a Chanel campaign either. On the other hand, the collection was so terrible that I'd rather focus on the NY buildings.

I like the first picture posted as a picture but not as an ad - it looks like a candid that someone edited in the Chanel logo for a photo shoot game on RTVG.

This photo is very good and would be even better if the clothes themselves looked good, actually the coat is OK but throw in the boots and bag and it is too wookie-fied.

Fabulous!!!

Overall, thumbs up for what we have seen so far.

The first shot posted is gorgeous IMO. I love the setting and concept he was going for. However in the last two shots, it doesn't work. The shot with Freja on the rooftop is terribly overdone by Karl, and the other shot looks bad, simply because Abbey looks so creepy there. Can't wait to see more balcony shots!

I guess I'm not that impressed with the first shot, because it just looks like the candids.
Freja and Abbey sure do compliment each other, they look terrific together.

very new york... but need to see the whole campaign.... the backdrop is a bit overtaken the clothes in terms of the proportion of cropping...

I second this..and also, BORING COMPOSITION. Really, how Lagerfeld photographed Chanel's earlier campaigns were much better. There's no brand image captured, here. It's boring and tasteless.

from the shots so far, this looks like student work.. actually, i've better student work karl is not that great of a photographer. i'm curious how it would turn out with a different photographer for chanel.
