Chanel Haute Couture F/W 09.10 Paris

speechless! I wanted to make it outside the show and see who was aroun but he rain fustrated my plans... way too beautiful!
after all it's Karl and this is what he's been doin so well for so many years.
As he would say the question with Chanel is not What's Next but HOW!
never king, he is they eternal Prince of fashion

CHANEL OVER GIVENCHY!
I love it! and the runway is different than from the ones before it has more lights

Ha, here am I thinking noones gonna outdo Tisci for that season and Karl pulls it off! The bride Lara is divine. So is the dress on Sasha. Or the ones on Abbey and Vlada.
I feel like the one on Abbey is a little nod to Lacroix. Love the Kaiser!

the collection is on catwalking......

Forget Style.com- I am waiting for the Ultra HQs from the Chanel website, which often take a week or so to get...But then we can really see the details and the genius of these beautiful things!! ^_^

Am I the only one who thinks this looks very disorganized? Sure there are some brilliant pieces, but there are also some very questionable pieces, no?

This is not as strong and directional as Karls past Couture shows :innocent:

hmmm^ i don't know about pairing those tweed suits with the patterned tights... looks waaaay to busy if you ask me!

It feels very old-fashioned. I can't help but associate a lot of those suit looks with the 80s, especially with those shoulders.

This is the first time, that Karl has done something that doesn't feel modern.

CHANEL PRESENTS COUTURE FIT FOR A QUEEN

From AP PARIS – Fashion's undisputed king, Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, served up an haute couture collection fit for royalty on Tuesday, with dangling trains adding a regal touch to everything from classic tweed skirt suits to slim cocktail dresses.
A heavy dose of sequins in rhinestones in royal plum and fuchsia tones gave the winter 2010 collection added monarchical cachet.
"Chanel has always been royal," said the label's one-time muse, former model Ines de la Fressange with a laugh. "We get the impression that (Lagerfeld's) obsession is never to rest on his laurels ... I think that what amuses him is to constantly innovate with new forms."
The train, a graphic rectangle of fabric that dangled to the models' ankles, certainly gave a new twist to the classic Chanel skirt suit. The trains also added a dose of evening glamour to above-the-knee sheath dresses in rich jewel tones.
The bride — who traditionally closes Paris' wildly expensive made-to-measure couture shows — wore an off-the-shoulder gown made of layers of lace, with a short, pouffy skirt and a train of cascading white ruffles. She and the handsome groom — in an all-white tuxedo — emerged from an oversized model of Chanel's iconic No. 5 perfume bottle, one of four set in a square at the center of the elevated catwalk.
"That train even changes the way the models walk, giving them this new regal bearing," said Mario Testino, a top fashion photographer, in an interview from his front row perch. "Karl manages to not only reinvent fashion every season, but even reinvent the way people walk."

the last part/evening is definitely the most interesting, beautiful gowns with the most outstanding embroideries. a question mark over the freja beha "goddess/nude" outfits.
