Chanel F/W 12.13 Paris

I absolutely love it! The pieces are very bold and seeing them styled altogether is a bit overwhelming, but there are so many amazing pieces here to be separated out. I love when Chanel channels a more modern and youthful ideal, this reminds me a lot of their F/W 11.12 collection in terms of that, but it's an even more wearable silhouette and does a better job of retaining the classic ladylike Chanel essence. I just don't see how so many people could hate this, when to me there is something here for everyone.

I don't know about this time, but the kid's outfit from S/S 2011 was in W and in the backstory they wrote ''not available to order'' so I guess they are made just for the show.

As always, the more I look at the HQs the more I am liking this- it is just a jolt from the last couple of collections, which just shows how many different gears Karl can use! B)

i know chanel has a very loyal clientele. curious to see how many want these looks in their wardrobe. but i definitely see this popping up in lots of editorials

Positives:
the set.
One of the few times I liked the Chanel shoes.
Even though it got repetitive, I liked the skinny pants.
Typical Karl but I liked this look.
The kid is cute and the kiddie bag.
I wanna say that I am bored with the gauzy dresses in this silhouette but I liked them.
Like most of the coats.

Negatives:
Same old-same old complaint about Chanel, too many freaking looks, I am not opposed to large collections but it just looks undisciplined and indulgent to have a collection with a bunch of bad and mediocre looks.
The dark color palette did not look edgy and cool rather it looked drab and dowdy.
Did not like the Spock eyebrows.
Did not like the high waisted belting on some of the looks.
Did not care for the patchwork looks, and other looks in the middle looked very mass market department store.
The embellishments, usually a Chanel strength, looked tacky and cheap.

Overall:
There is enough good here for editorials and sales, but overall the collection is merely alright.

Majority of this is unflattering, unattractive and in some moments just plain ugly. It's such a pity to look at what Chanel has become.

I'm not getting the hate, to be quite honest. This is one pof his best most recent collections. I think it's the styling that hinders some of the pieces, but they are utterly gorgeous and well constructed. Lovwe the appliqués.

Always so exciting for Spring and Pre...but ALWAYS SO BAD For Fall in the past few seasons!

Once Karl Lagerfeld decides to quit being King of the Media World, I will happily take his place and restore Chanel to its rightful place on the top of everyones wishlist. (+ Ill Keep the epic sets)

I don't understand how the second part and the final part can be a part of the same collections, or even be under the same roof . None of them are particularly good but the final part is far superior to anything in the rest of the show, it could've made an interesting beginning of something beautiful, but alas, it's the climax of the show.

I always spot a few breathtaking Chanel dresses and it isn't the case this time.. this has 'hurry up' written all over it, some nice pieces because you can't go wrong with a team like that but overall a very disastrous collection. Thankfully there's always another season.. or actually, there's always another Cruise or Pre-Fall collection, which is where all of his creativity and attention seems to reside these days, his prêt-a-porter and HC collections have fallen behind them since a few years now..

SO disappointed! Some pieces are either too matronly, ugly, or lackluster. The only outfit I'm really loving is that full look on Lily. I found that to be very youthful and fun.

i always feel as if chanel threw all the pieces from previous collections in to a huge bag and randomly drew about 50-60 pieces out from that and re-worked it with new fabrics and colours.
