Chanel S/S 2008 Paris

omg this is so ugly. It looks so whorey. The shoes are the UGLIEST thing Ive seen. And all that denim makes it look so cheap and commercial.

this collection is horrendous. and i thought the cruise collection was baddddddd.
whether karl is mocking american culture or being ironic or whatever... its bad.

i love chanel to death but lately im finding karl a bit too overrated.

hate the stars and the strikes. yikes! hate the silver shoes.

almost all of the black and white outfits sans stars and stripes are lovely but the silver moon shoes ruin the looks!!

those ankles reissues are disgusting...

If Karl was indeed making a genuine effort at capturing some essence of American style then he failed miserably. He should take note from Ralph Lauren whose understanding of American tastes goes beyond stereotypes. Ralph Lauren's S/S 08 collection was far superior to this monstrosity.

Well said... :flower:

With all the cheap looking denim and stars and stripes it looks like Karl is now designing for Walmart. I can see it now.

And that is so true about what was said about Ralph Lauren, you can capture the American style without draping a flag around a model and sending them down the runway.

The only person who ever looked good in a flag was Ginger Spice.

i so wanna see the video and interview of this! we must be missing soemthing!! as much as i am a devoted fan of Lagerfeld, i cant see how someone with such a huge obsession with thiness, can do something so unfitted!! it looks worst than a sport collection! there are of course wonderful pieces, but wide leg jeans are always dangerous, because they even make this skinny girls look rather fat!

karl please tell us why!

it looks like something from the street which doesn't cost much!
It is old and cheap,
you don't even want to wear any one of them if someone sends it to you!!

How can those clothes be shown on runway?!:furious:
it is undoubtedly a shame for Karl, the runway and even the whole fashion week!:yuk::yuk:

DAMN!

I usually stick up for Karl but it's as if he purposefully set out to prove his critics right here!

the denim, the ridiculous american flag prints! he didn't even do the classic looks well. very outdated and not relevant.

It's all about proposals for life," said Lagerfeld of his Chanel fashion 'casserole'.
"There's no room for just one way; people need clothes for different lifestyles

That's a cop excuse out for a crappy collection, but I wouldn't have expected a coherent answer from Karl. He has gotten so full of himself.

what the hell happened to Karl?????????
there s no excuse for such a horrible collection.
it s like the denim pants weren t even fitted well on the models and the cut off shorts??? let s not even go there
:cry::shock:

I'm pretty disappointed I must say...A few cool things but overall, one of his worst in years...Maybe the cruise show in December will bring back the charm...maybe...

the bag with the porthole is the BEST part of this chanel collection. most of the denim looks are hedious beyond belied. the silver boots make me sick. but the dresses with chains running through...i like it!!! but only because i've already designed it years ago. but hey...i still love it!!! ;)

Karl Lagerfeld is loosing his creativity of the early years

That is not Chanel anymore at least for me

^^i wouldnt say the situation is that extreme!
just 3 months ago, many people were pleased with the couture collection, and fendi or his own lines were also realy praised this very same season!

it's just one rather bad, yet to be explained, collection!

I need these shoes!
