Terrence Howard Retracts "Insensitive" Comments About Chris Brown and Rihanna

Terrence Howard wants to take back what he said about Chris Brown and Rihanna.
When asked by paparazzi last night if he had any comment on the Chris Brown incident with Rihanna, the actor said, "It's just life, man. Chris is a great guy. He'll be all right. And Rihanna knows he loves her. She'll be all right. Just everybody's got to get out of their way."
But now, Howard is insisting he didn't know about the allegations made against Brown when he made his remarks.
"When they asked me about Chris Brown the other day, I was in no way aware of what he had been accused of," Howard said in a statement. "Had I known, I would have never had said something so insensitive."

Well that's another retraction, this issue is just too hot to touch for celebs. The ones making bizarre comments should really chill. I don't know what kind of warped universe these people live in!

Again how does this indicate what all black men think about the Chris and Rihanna incident.
Uh?
Where did I say those people spoke for all Black men?
I don't speak for all French women.
Edit: Wait, actually I understand now. The post I quoted said 'all Black Men' and I didn't realise. The original post I was agreeing with said 'all these Black men'.
The poster said "all these black men" not "all black men".

I believe there is a grammatical difference between "all these ___" and "all ___"?
Thank you for that. That's exactly my point. The two sentences don't mean the same thing.
:huh:what are "black websites"??
MediaTakeOut, Bossip, Panache Report, etc. are websites geared toward Black audiences. I would call them Black websites.

You really have to walk on eggshells these days...:ninja:

it is laughable how some celebs are retracting ....
but i'm glad they are making a PR announcements.

domestic abused, especially if they are adolescents, is a serious matter.
to even make a supporting view and comment about the alleged abuser when there is evidence to the contrary is appalling and you condone such bastardly behavior.

it's obvious Chris Brown's people and fans and such are trying to spread such contradicting stories to save face.

It seems possible to me that he may have actually left her for dead, not realizing he hadn't been successful--but it's pretty unlikely we'll ever know unless he starts gabbing on the stand.

There are a fair number of people saying, Oh, we just don't know what's really happening ... but in a case of domestic violence on the street, where there was apparently at least one witness, there really is fairly limited mystery. It's not like the Olympic bombings or the anthrax mailings where maybe only one person knows what really happened & they can get the wrong guy.

PS It's clear to me that Terrence isn't getting the therapy he needs.

.... and when there is a recorded voice of "a woman's scream" in the background of a 911 call and the police arrived at the scene of the disturbance only to find the victim in such a state, mystery is no longer a mystery.

More detailed story of the Herpes rumour --

So how does this relate to the whole Chris Brown incident? Well, rumor has it
that yet another one of the possible reasons Chris exploded at Rihanna
was because she gave him herpes. I know, I know...it sounds a bit far
fetched, and you're probably still asking yourself, what the eff does Beyonce
have to do with this? Well, according to the rumors, Rihanna got the
nasty little STD from her alleged romp with Jay-Z (who was in a
relationship with Beyonce at the time), and when Chris began to show
symptoms, he freaked out.

How did Chris Brown leave the scene of the alleged attack against Rihanna early Sunday if he left his car behind????
That is one very important piece of the puzzle that has yet to be answered.
Did he walk all the way from Hancock Park to his hotel, the London, in West Hollywood?
Did he take a cab?
Was there someone (security, entourage, etc.) in another vehicle tailing them and then he left with them? If so, why would they let him hit her and leave her?
If someone picked him up, are they aiding a criminal and could they be charged as well?
So many questions

Even though a short list of people have come out to support Chris Brown (his sister Tootie, Terence Howard, his stylist...hmm, that's about it!), it looks like most people are on Team Rihanna, and Jay-Z is no exception.
When Jay heard about the horrific incident, he was absolutely furious. A source for Us Weekly (via The NY Post) says, "[Jay-z] hit the roof. Chris is a walking dead man. He messed with the wrong crew."
We're glad Jay-Z has Rihanna's back, but it got us thinking about his relationship with the 20-year-old singer. We know the (now married) rapper is like a father figure to her, but a while ago, there were LOTS of blind items/internet rumors about Jay-Z and Rihanna's alleged fling. Of course, everyone denied it at the time, and Beyonce shot down rumors that she wrote the song "Ring The Alarm" about Rihanna, but the stories keep popping up.

Now let me reiterate...this is JUST a rumor. By definition, a rumor is "a statement or report current without known authority for its truth," but sometimes rumors can be true. There may not be any truth to this, but we're just saying what we're hearing. Could something like an incurable STD be one of the reasons that the R&B superstars got into a violent fight? Or is it because another girl texted him? Was it because he was flirting with Paris Hilton? Or is it because Rihanna was the one who cheated?

Woah woah woah, first they messed with Rihanna now they're messing with Jay-z himself just coz he is sticking up for her? These people are stttuuuupidddd... I can't wait to see what Jay-Z is gonna do

.O.M.G. Did you know Rihanna also slept with Kanye, JT, and T.I. Just about everyone she collaborated with musically.

He hit her so bad. She needs surgery. She is unrecognizable

The blogs are just filling in whatever they can so people to continue to read. I like celebrity gossip, but this one is no fun.

Unfortunately, I grew up in a community where domestic violence is/was pervasive. I never saw the jail sentences that these men serve improve their life... IMO the first offense, more emphasis should be placed on rehab and prevention and less about justice. Repeated offenders are a different story... people who care about Chris should be working with him to make sure this never occurs. I can see why others might feel differently...

.

I'm sorry but your post are not making sense anymore or are you retracting what you said previously?. One thing it's your opinion of what should be his sentence, you do not agree with jail, fair enough and that's indeed open to discussion. But what you propose is Still a SENTENCE or there would be no one to enforce it.
Since in your other posts you said she should "drop the charges", "not get the law involved" "her scars will fade" and most shocking of all that "maybe she did something to provoke him", , you should not be surprised that people take you for an apologist, those are some really sinister opinions.

Weakness in Chris Brown Case -- Prior Attacks

Chris Brown may have gotten lucky because the charge he was booked on is kinda weak, law enforcement sources tell TMZ. But he's still in big trouble, and Rihanna says it's not the first time he's attacked her.

Sources say the Los Angeles County District Attorney kicked the case back to the police for further investigation because evidence that he made criminal threats against Rihanna is kind of thin. Our sources are quick to say he will, however, almost certainly be charged with felony domestic battery, a lesser offense but still serious.

Here's how it went down, according to the police report. After Chris received a text message from a woman who wrote about getting together, an argument erupted. By the way, initially, Rihanna would not tell cops what started the argument.

She did, however, tell them that during the argument, he started hitting her. According to the police report, she ordered him to drive her home and "faked a call" to someone, saying things like, "He's dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there."

Rihanna told cops the fake call enraged Brown. He said something to the effect of "You are really fu**ed up now. I'm going to kill you." This statement is the basis of the criminal threats charge.

At that point, according to the report, Brown allegedly began a violent attack with his fists. At some point, Rihanna took the keys out of the ignition and threw them outside.

And there's this. According to the police report, she told cops this was not the first time Brown hit her. She referred to it as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

We're told the criminal threats charge is based on that one statement Brown allegedly made. As one law enforcement source told us, "It's kinda weak, and the D.A. is not going to prosecute a high profile case like this unless it's solid." That's why it was kicked back for further investigation.

Given the brutal nature of the attack, which the photos clearly show -- contusions on the face, swollen eyes, cut lip, bloody nose, bite marks on fingers and arm -- a felony domestic battery charge is virtually a done deal. That, however, is a less serious offense than making criminal threats.

There are really so many vicious rumours circulating about Rihanna, it's just shocking. The Chris Brown camp are doing their best to tarnish her image. It reminds of the whole Robin Givens/Mike Tyson divorce. She to, was a victim of domestic violence but was still made public enemy no. 1 by the media, was labelled a gold digger and a cheater. It took her years to clear her name when people finally realised Mike's true nature and that she's been telling the truth all along.

Is Chris Brown's Career Totally Doomed?

I reached out to dozens of crisis PR experts today—people who have handled everything from food recalls to child sex-abuse scandals. Their only point of disagreement: Whether Chris Brown's career is finished, over or merely done.
This is no small fall for a guy who, just last year, was named by Forbes magazine as a "celebrity dealmaker to watch." His biggest sin since the alleged crime? Staying silent.

Of course, what actually happened remains to be sorted out in full view of Lady Justice. But PR people universally agree that Brown should have launched his I'm-an-*** apology tour by now, or at least some sort of self-mutilating statement.
Here's the long-shot strategy he should be following...

Police investigation notwithstanding, crisis PR pro Dave Cieslak tells me he that somebody in Brown's position should "admit his unspeakable mistake and genuinely beg forgiveness from Rihanna and his fans, all with tears streaming from his eyes."
And yet there is a very tiny chance that Brown could crawl and scrape his way back into our collective good graces.

How? Focusing on his fans in the African-American community is a good start, image management consultant Goldie Taylor says. "We have a forgiving heart in the community," Taylor says. "It's happened time and time again. We saw it with Al Sharpton and Tawana Brawley, and look at Michael Vick. He isn't done yet."
(Indeed, Vick gets out of prison in July, and his lawyers are reportedly seeking to get him reinstated the NFL.)
That focus may take the form of a sympathetic interview with Cousin Jeff on BET or giving us a very public come-to-Jesus moment by joining an African-American church.

He also needs to curb any news leaks coming out of his camp, as well as put out his own strong message, Taylor says:
"That his love for Rihanna is unfaltering, that he has undying love and respect for black women everywhere, that he has sisters and watched his mother struggle as a single mom, and that he can't comment on anything directly but that he has great faith in the American justice system.
"But if they keep up with this radio silence," Taylor says, "he's a dead brand walking."
Of course, Brown's own anti-domestic-violence foundation must follow.

Even after all that, don't look for a Chris Brown live tour anytime soon.
"If his people are smart," says Peter Shankman, founder of the PR firm Geek Factory, "they'll keep him under wraps for at least six months."

Can someone quickly update me?
I'm confused!

There was a rumor, and i do think it continued after Jay-Z and Beyonce got married, that Jay-Z is with Rihanna the whole time and that her relationship with Chris is pure PR, nothing more. There was a quite number of BI's listed that implyed this. So, i do think that there might be some truth to these reports on Jay-Z's reaction to all of this. On the other hand, this story might prove that there was no PR stunt at all.

That being said, i'm sick of even commenting Chris' actions toward Rihanna. He sickens me to death. He's done posibly everything that A.one famous person can do to trash it's carrer, B. one human being can do to prove he lacks the humanity (and healthy piece of mind aka reason) that separates him from being a pure animal.

I think it's Rihanna's turn to set an example to all those who seek in her an idol. And by setting an example i mean showing everyone that a person, no matter female or male, that acts violently towards others can get away with it and that there are legal processes that can prove this and make a straight record on what can and what cannot be done without reprecussions.

my 2 cents.

We're now hearing loud whispers that Chris Brown is no longer in Los Angeles.
He's in Vegas!!
WTF????
Rather than going home to Virginia to be surrounded by family, the 19 year old has decided to kick it in Sin City.
Real class act!
It's being reported that the alleged woman beater has taken cover for the time being in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. While spokespeople for the hotel haven't been able to confirm whether or not Brown is staying under their roof, they've confirmed the fact that a few of Brown's friends are currently rooming at the Hard Rock.
Not too hard to connect the dots!

I completely agree with the previous poster.

It really sickens me how Chris Brown's camp is coming out with all these rumours...it's absolutely disgusting. So she gave him herpes...SO WHAT? It's irrelevant. That wouldn't justify beating her up. The people who would even consider that rumour relevant are clearly looking for excuses for Chris....i.e. the well she must have provoked him. It doesn't matter even if she was hitting him because he could have been the bigger person, restrained her, dropped her off somewhere and driven away. He didn't hit her once or twice...he BEAT her.

What also baffles me is how some people are treating this so so flippantly by suggesting Chris is just 19 and needs counseling. 19 is old enough to know you can't beat somebody up. In my opinion he needs to go to jail if found guilty and serve the full sentence. Counseling is a supplementary option, not an alternative.

JMO.
