Rihanna-Brown: Stuck in Los Angeles

Pop stars Chris Brown and Rihanna are stuck in Los Angeles, unable to leave for their respective homes.
It’s just like in the movies when the police say, don’t leave town.
And so the couple waits, in separate accommodations, to see if the police or district attorney need to do more questioning about their wild ride on Saturday night that left Rihanna bruised and beaten, and Brown the object of much derision.
A source says, "Can you believe that Chris hasn’t even issued an apology? Three days and nothing." Of course, a public apology might be thought of as admission of guilt. But still: Brown so far has not made wise decisions.
And just as a source has described a plausible scenario, I am told that reps from Jive Records, Chris’s label, are having trouble finding an outside agency to do spin control. They’ve been turned down by at least one major firm.

But what really happened on Saturday night to Rihanna and Chris Brown? How did they get into so much trouble?
Here’s the latest scenario in the Rihanna-Chris Brown saga.
Based on reports that bite marks were allegedly found on the pop songstress, and that the pair was traveling in a Lamborghini, here’s one way things could have gone down. I don’t watch "CSI" or any of those shows, really, but this makes sense.
According to one source, and fitting in with reports that Brown received either a text message or phone call on his cell phone that upset Rihanna, it makes sense that the petite singer may have raised her left hand or arm toward Brown in a moment of gesticulation.
Lamborghini’s have small cabins that are hard to maneuver in. Brown, who would have been driving, could have used his teeth as a weapon to defend himself against Rihanna’s flailing. Thus, the bite marks.

This simple explanation doesn’t sound bad, considering that otherwise Brown would be proven to be a vampire. Or a cannibal.
The flailing and biting, my source says, caused Brown to pull over. Both singers then jumped out of the car. Brown might have been incensed at this point, and began to hit Rihanna with his fists. Her screams may have caused him to panic and drive off, leaving the singer by herself. If it’s true that a neighbor heard her and called 911, then this depiction fits the story.

well as of right now we dont have anything official....just contradicting gossip...theres even a fake rihanna pic circulating the net!

Police reports are official & a matter of public record ... has the police report been released yet?

Let's say somehow there was a horrible misunderstanding & we've all got this wrong ... what are we seeing from Mr Brown?

  • His camp circulating half-baked STD and other rumors regarding the young woman involved
  • He posts bail & goes to *Las Vegas* with his crew
  • Cryptic & unpleasant Facebook update--again disrespectful of the young woman involved
  • No real public statement of any kind
These are not the actions of a "good guy" or a gentleman or indeed even a smart and savvy jerk. I'd say more arrogant, self-indulgent celebrity with no remorse who thinks he's above the law & is appealing to all the mysogynists like himself out there. Scrape the bottom of our cultural barrel and you'll find Chris Brown.

You don't really need FBI training to get what's going on here.

i think am gonna wait to hear from them before making up my mind about this whole story.
this last story from fox news made sense. he might ve gotten a text and she probably slapped him and a lot of guys can t take a girl slapping them so he turned back the ''favor'' unfortunatly.

But see, we have all these pesky laws about this kind of thing ... What a lot of guys can or cannot take is simply not a relevant standard. If someone slaps you, you don't get to try to kill them ... see?

So he is in LA? I was wondering how he could cross the state line after posting bail ...

Im sorry but if she slapped him she shouldnt have done that either, you dont hit people (man or WOMAN)!

i don't get one part particularly:
his camp immediately starts working (starting with the STD rumor) and does not issue any statement on the other hand? isn't that like beyond any possible understanding from PR's state of view?

if she blacked out how did the witness hear her screaming? If Chris was choking her she wouldn't be able to breathe enough to scream...

Hmmm, a really good point, actually.
I guess, this also goes to show that there's too many versions of the story at the moment and we can't believe in all of them (I tend to forget that myself, when I read about their fight).

I just wish it never happened. They're too young to be dealing with such things...:(

^ They must think they're still in high school & they can win this in the rumor mill. Plus as the article posted above stated, the label apparently can't find a PR company that wants to put themselves on the line for this jerk.

Slapping someone is illegal too, I think it's assault and maybe a misdemeanor. I hope it's obvious to everyone that while it may not be smart, mature, or legal to slap someone, it's in a far different class of wrong than beating and choking someone and leaving her unconscious.

We have a cultural taboo against men being violent to women, and there's an excellent reason--it's an unfair fight and very, very dangerous. Men have 10x the testosterone of women and considerably more upper body strength. There are excellent reasons why men are taught to control themselves (I do not refer to the underbelly of our society where they may be taught no such thing).

It's really really sad when people say "she must have done something" or "she provoked him"....Violence is never ok and should never be the answer

Taking it out of this particular context, not even self-defense is a justification?
A woman slaps you and you answer by beating her to pulp and choking her unconscious, leaving her defenceless with no mean of escape (she could have easily been raped while passed out, it was a parking lot after all), and that registers as legitimate self-defense?
Ah, OK. That won't be the first time I disagree with you.

I do realise that a lot of what we hear is unconfirmed rumors (although many comes from reputable sources), but if Chris's injuries (if any) had been anything more than utterly superficial Rihanna would have been booked for assault too or at the very least Chris's team would have arranged for him to be papped with his injuries in evidence.

Instead, what we have is no charges against Rihanna and pictures of Christ covering his face but with his bruised knuckles well in evidence.
I am told that reps from Jive Records, Chris’s label, are having trouble finding an outside agency to do spin control. They’ve been turned down by at least one major firm.
I am not surprised.
Twist the facts as much you want but at the end of the day, Rihanna ended in a hospital and Chris walked out of the scene on his two feet and is being charged with a felony.
Regardless of what started the fight or who laid the first blow, it's an impossible situation to spin. The ridiculous retractations from T.I. and Terrence have shown that much.

a woman slaps a man is wrong, a man slaps a woman is wrong. A slap is wrong. period.

when a man/boy strikes back and is slapping and punching the woman/girl like a punching bag that's when the law should/will step in. Chris Brown is no exception to that law.

Chris was only booked on making criminal threats. Which is the "a threat that is made to a person with the likelihood that it may occur" or "making a criminal threat"

I'm raising a general question in response to the poster's statement.

As I said before in my original post, "taking it out of this particular context."

I think you're misunderstanding the seriousness of that charge. Criminal threats is worse than felony battery, according to what I have read.

I hope Chris Brown gets prison time. I don't care if Rihanna started the
argument. He got physical and savagly attacked her.

I feel bad for Rihanna. I know this is going to be a well publicized court case.

i really do hope this all gets resolved. they are both very talented artists and its sad that chris' career might be over... :( *even though what he did was very bad

OK, I misread you. It was a bit of a rhetorical question though.

I stand corrected. The felony is still under investigation but I hope you are not questioning whether or not it did occur because at this point it's hard fact.
And yes, 'criminal threat' carries heavier sentences than battery.

yes.
also, there's concrete evidence linking to the criminal threats. you're just not charged and post bail if the complaint was said verbally. in this case, they saw the shape of the victim (rihanna's visible injuries) and it was then did they took her statement of assault to arrest and book Chris.
