Chris Brown arrested and sentenced for domestic violence

he probably is. diddnt he like run away when he realized what he did???

I'm disappointed at his statement.

On another point, isn't it good if he's scared ****less? I mean, obviously, it's not good for the victim, because what's done is done. But if we look at Chris Brown only.
If he wasn't scared he would, in my opinion, be reduced to a psychopat who just can't fathom what he's done. IF he's scared, then it's good. It shows that he's sorry too and he should definitely express that somehow.
He should man up, admit what he's done, apologize and also admit that he's sorry and scared. Scared that he's been able to act that violently, scared of the his and her respective futures (not only career-wise) and just be sincere about it all!

But but but his lawyers, "cleaners" and PR-people want it done another way apparently: Not admitting anything yet and spinning things to his benefit, even if it means that he'll sound as insincere as he did on his official statement! What's even worse is that he agreed to it.

Not a good move.

Here they are distancing him from what's happened , and casting doubt on what's been written.

Unfortunately I feel that is what his 'clearners' are trying to do. It's not going to be successful in the public arena. Chris is doing a disservice to himself, he should just own up to his actions and ask for forgiveness. He should just state that he has never lay a hand on Rihanna before (if that was indeed the first time) and that night he could not control his anger... its a side of him that he never wants to see again and will take all the proper steps to ensure that another incident such as this one never re-occurs. He should also offer his help to Rihanna and her family while admitting all the hurt that her family is dealing with is a direct result of his immature actions.

a local radio station in my area is putting a ban on any tracks by chris to show a protest, plus, Rihanna was scheduled to perform here last weekend but the concert was cancelled due to this incident.

the ban was kinda funny. i mean, like he cares about us in the 3 rd world here anyway~

ps:in support of protest against domestic violence =)

That's for the real court, not the court of public opinion.

Which is disheartening. Everyone one of us could become jurors one day, and I hope that we don't convict someone without knowing the facts. The media plays a big role in determining who is guilty before there is a trial. That is why PR is a big business.

February 16, 2009.
MediaTakeOut.com just received an interesting development. According to Radar magazine, Rihanna's cousin Yvonne Fenty is playing down Rihanna's injuries. Here's what Rihanna's cousin reportedly said:
Rihanna is holding up well. Everyone is looking after her--she is just trying to catch herself and get her life back on track. None of this is as bad as everyone makes it sound. Her injuries weren't near as bad as people make them sound."

"Yes, she is going through a rough time and is upset, but she is thinking positive and resting. She will be fine."

[FONT=Trebuchet MS,Geneva,Ari]February 16, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just received word that singer John Legend said the following:
“I know both of them. I was surprised when I heard because it doesn’t strike me as something Chris would do. You never know what’s inside people or what can trigger that.

It’s an awful story. I feel terrible for both of them but if Chris did what they said he did, that’s unacceptable. He has to accept the consequences of it.

Media Takeout should've been closed down long ago for all their bizarre stories.

What's disheartening to me is that in the 21st century some men believe they can behave this way and get away with it.

Of course when jurors are picked they are tested to see whether they've already made up their minds, and if they have they're disqualified. I am not going to be called as a juror in this case as I don't live in California any longer, but living in California wouldn't stop me from having a very good idea of what happened here. For anyone who's still confused (and there seem to be plenty to pick a jury from ), I think his statement says it all.

The point of our justice system is to have high standards of evidence that sometimes let the guilty go free. (And still we seem to make mistakes in the other direction, but that's another topic.) I don't think that should stop me from realizing who has done what. Oh, hello, OJ :innocent:

I just find it weird that people want to persecute him for a crime he is not charged with. There are three sides to every story. His, hers, and the truth.

But the bigger issue is if Chris beat Rihanna and he has not been charged with anything that resembles a violent act than the law is not very female friendly. It makes it harder for women to press charges.

Wow, I didn't know those things that have been mentioned about Sean Penn and Tupac...how come society is so forgiving with some stars and not with others? Makes no sense to me

.

^ My impression of Tupac was always that he was a dark soul, but Nicki Giovanni thinks quite highly of him, which came as a surprise to me. I am not familiar with his rap sheet, but he seemed to me someone who lived a violent life, and died a violent death.

This is the first I've heard of the Sean Penn thing. My understanding though is that Madonna is a girl who asks to be tied up ... in fact I believe she wrote a book about it ... perhaps someone has misunderstood?

PS Re Sean Penn ... when Katrina happened, he went down there immediately, and though he doesn't speak about it, those who were with him reported that he jumped in and pulled people who were drowning out of the water. I think that says a lot about his character.

All of the radio stations I listen to (about 8) have "banned Chris Brown's music in support of Rihanna". That's what they've all announced. I think this is such a sad situation and men who abuse women are absolutely disgusting and pathetic.

Sean Penn did beat Madonna. But believe what you want to believe.

Anyways here is what some celebrities have to say. Carrie seems like a cold person. Mary J is crazy:

CARRIE UNDERWOOD
"I don't think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice because, thank goodness, I've never been in any kind of abusive situation. You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who's involved figure out everything first.
JAY-Z
"This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."
KELLIE PICKLER
"I think the world would be a better place if people worried more about what they needed to do to be better people, than ... judging others on what kind of people they are. I don't know what really went on with Rihanna and Chris, and I dont think anyone else does, either. The only people who really, truly know are only the two of them, so I am not going to assume or comment. I'm going to mind my own business."
HEIDI MONTAG
"I don't know what happened there, but our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them. Its such a crazy situation. I hope everything heals. I don't know what to say."
LINDSAY LOHAN
"I have no comment on that. That's not my relationship. I have no reason to speak about it. I think they're both great people."
LUPE FIASCO
"They are great live and both are good people. It's a tragedy."
MOLLY SIMS
"It's so sad. I don't think anybody knows the whole truth, but I guess the truth really doesn't matter when [abuse] is the result. That should never happen, no matter what. And I love his music. That being said, I think [about] Rihanna : No girl, no woman, no mother, no sister, no friend, no one deserves that. Absolutely."
NIA LONG
"I know both of them well. They're young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point."
MARY J. BLIGE
"They're both young and beautiful people, and that's it."

i thought it was a very known thing that sean used to beat up madonna?
i didn't hear about the r*ping though...

Something is fishy about this case. Or maybe I am missing something and someone can connect the dots..

If Chris hit Rihanna and suffered injuries. Why hasn't he not been charged with battery or assault?

And if her injuries are severe, than wouldn't that be grounds to completely charge him without being an investigation?

Something is odd, if he is only being charged with a threat.

kinda put howard's backdrifting in another perspective:

In September 2001, Howard was arrested and charged with "simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, and stalking" when, in an argument with his estranged wife Lori McCommas, he threatened to attack her if she hung up the phone. When she did, he went to her house, broke down the door, and then assaulted her.
Wow! What a douche!!!!!
Howard was halted by his brother, who had followed the actor after he saw him storm out of the house. When the cops arrived, Howard confessed, "I broke the door down and hit my wife."
In 2002, Terrence pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
