Chris Brown arrested and sentenced for domestic violence

Someone in that team should really be writing a book about "how you can physically abuse someone and still make a profit from it".

A person can talk publically about their actions in a humble and contrite way - but turning the process into a promotional roadshow is beyond the pale. There are some things that shouldn't be turned into a career opportunity. Abuse should not be turned into yet another stage show, where performers make sure the world is watching, while they mime the words.

Rehabilitation is not about looking good, it's about addressing private matters, going deep into your personality to sort out your problems, and none of that can be done on a talk show or book signing.

The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Rihanna accepted a settlement from Chris in the high millions. This whole relationship PR is basically a fraud then...I just wonder why she is playing along? If she stays by him, people will see through it.

One silver lining...she will testify if called:

I was just closing my email, then I read the latest news..

The order filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday stipulates that Chris must not "harass, strike, threaten, assault (sexually or otherwise), follow, stalk, molest, destroy or damage personal or real property, disturb the peace, keep under surveillance, or block movements of the protected persons named above," with Robyn Fenty listed as the protected person. He should go in therapy, and she shouldn't be emotionally dependent.

Is he related to Bobby Brown?

^^I cant believe he is a 195 pounds! He looks so scrawny...

I pray that book deal story is false. If its true, I'm dissapointed in her even more for trying to "help" him when all he cares about is himself it seems.

I wanted catch up on this thread with comments about the dreadful police report and that jerk's unremorseful jet-skiing self, but this photo leaves me at a loss for words. I mean, really?!

^^ well, Rihanna loved him too...:innocent:
I'm sure they'd want to be in her place...

rihanna LOVES him still. otherwise she wouldn t have gotten back with him

and why should those girls suddenly hate chris when rihanna herself forgave him and went back to him.

that s what was talked about before, nobody s gonna learn anything fron this whole thing.
little girls will know about her going back to the guy who beat her and if they ever were abused they would do the same and go back to their abusers.
she should really speak out, if anything she ows it to her fans, the ones that got her at the top to begin with

I'm not remotely surprised or disturbed by the courthouse photos:innocent:

eta: fans sometimes can't distinguish the performer vs the person.

^^ That I Love You Chris Brown pic is beyoooond pathetic....and people wonder why our world is f* up.....it's these stupid girls, someday to become stupid mothers which will raise stupid girls...the cycle goes on and on and on....

I want to know why isn't her parents by her side? Is she trying to isloate from everyone? Going back to him, and this soon, just shows how weak and delusional she is. It's out in the open, the whole world knows about it...Rhianna should snap out of it! She can take this tragic and set an example...but nooooooo she's stuck on stupid. I do have some sympathy for her but at the same time wtf is she doing back with him? She seriously need help...some sort of support group from family or friends...something! Even if she is only back with him so that he won't go to jail is pretty stupid as well...

Chris Browns 'team' is apparently working on overdrive to salvage his sinking career.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Beat Her Down and his 'victim', Rihanna, are set to co-author a book about abuse and go on a talk show tour to speak directly to their fans and the general public.

Other things on the ”Project Mea Culpa” do do list includes Brown's telling of his increasingly abusive behavior toward Rihanna, and partnering with clinical experts in the field to add credibility to their couples counseling efforts.

A source close to the Beat Her Down camp said, ”Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there's genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems. … It's another example of trying to turn a bad situation into something good … where people can learn to change habits.”

I'm generaly not a fan of Perezhilton but i think his snark has been put to good use this time.

May Chris Brown's name be smeared as "Beat her down" for a long time, because i will be so angry if his team of PR and spin doctors are successful in bullsh*tting their way out of it. Or if he can reinvent himself as some kind of bible loving family man

Also "Project Mea Culpa" yep. Good label for just how sincere he is in his efforts.

That whole affadavit report was so horrifying, and i feel sick having seen how smarmy he was and knowing the details of what he did.

it's a big assumption to say she still loves him, she simply may be pressured by her PR people to take him back
celebrities do a lot of things only because of good/bad publicity plus I'm sure they'd do everything to save him from going to jail

and we don't even know for sure if she's really back with him ( or did she make any statement that I missed?)

What Should Have Torn Them Apart Brought Them Closer Together...

rihannatime1.jpg

You'd think getting beaten up by your boyfriend would be reason enough to cut him out of your life, but it looks like Chris Brown's alleged beat down on Rihanna has only brought the two R&B singers closer together.
Despite Rihanna's attorney Donald Etra telling the media that Rihanna will testify if she's required to, it seems as though Etra and Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos have been acting rather chummy with one another, so we're not sure what's going on, but it's awfully fishy.
While it was reported that the couple spent time together at Star Island in Miami (and possibly even tied the knot!), we were the first to bring you exclusive photographic evidence that the two were spending the night together here in Los Angeles. We spotted Rihanna coming and going to her secret hideaway, and we photographed Chris arriving there twice this week.
As you know, Chris first headed to the couple's secret rendezvous spot at 4am on Wednesday (he arrived around 4:30am), and he didn't leave until 6pm that day. We followed his black Escalade to the Staples Center, but it appears as though Rihanna was not with him - after all, the two had just spent about 14 hours together!
After going to the Staples Center, he went to a recording studio in Hollywood and once again, came home to his lady love just after 4am on Thursday morning. Chris left around 6:30am and went to an undisclosed location to prepare for his arraignment, and after making an appearance downtown at the LA Superior Court, he went to the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, where he was spotted at the bar with his bodyguards.
Chris and his entourage left the hotel around 3:45am this morning, and we haven't seen him since, but we KNOW he hasn't been to Rihanna's today - we've been camped out there all day and there's been no sign of his black SUV. However, we have a feeling these two will be spending some time together this weekend...and who knows, maybe they'll make their first public appearance since the incident?!

Rihanna To Testify Against Chris Brown If Called, Lawyer Says

LOS ANGELES — Rihanna's attorney says the singer would testify against Chris Brown if called as a witness in her boyfriend's assault case. Donald Etra, who is representing the 21-year-old Barbados native, said Friday that Rihanna would be required by law to testify if prosecutors subpoena her.

Etra appeared in court Thursday when Brown made his first appearance on charges of assaulting and making criminal threats to his superstar girlfriend. Brown's arraignment was postponed until April 6.

Etra said Rihanna did not want a "no contact" order issued against Brown, but that she will report any violations of an order prohibiting the 19-year-old singer from threatening, harassing or harming his girlfriend. A court order grants her the authority to record any violations of the order.

Rihanna To Cops: Chris Brown's Beatings Kept Getting Worse

LAPD cops interviewed Rihanna after the attack and she told them Brown had been violent toward her in the past and that the attacks were getting "more violent" as time went on. The interview is potent evidence if the L.A. County D.A. charges Brown with felony domestic battery, and that could happen as early as today.

"If called as a witness"? Why the eff wouldn't she be called as a witness? Who else was in the car with them?

 I know, welcome to the legal lingo that's all about an 'out' angle for your client. This case is beyond suspect and more like a permanent legal damnation on Chris Brown and Rihanna knows she needs to protect her own career now.

The issue with getting Rhi to testify is that she is also a victim as well as a witness. Victims, especially domestic violence ones, have privacy rights above all. While the defendant has the right to face his accuser, the court can't force her to testify.

Doesn't really matter because the DA got loads of other evidence to put chris in jail with or without Rhi; the photos, the blood evidence, the sworn testimony, the cops, the witnesses who heard her screaming, the people at the hospital, the phone calls, the text messages, etc...

And Chris not taking a plea is his worst move yet. His arrogance will haunt him for the rest of his life.
