Christian Dior 1996-2002 : The John Galliano Early Years

I love the collections that Galliano did from this era. They really just seemed so right at the time and it's so weird because I'm only 19 years old and they feel so nostalgic in a way(hope that makes sense) but the collections don't seem old.

That black gown is highly similar to Miliana Trump's wedding gown...I heard it took a three months to create

His Dior RTW FW 97 is my absolute favourite collection of his!! Ah...it is so nice to look back on all these pictures!!

BTW...can anyone remember which collection of his where he had the model parading among cars. Is that Dior or Galliano? I remember seeing this on TV where John was telling Kate how to run away and then look back at the audience!!

He's done two collections that had cars as part of the set.

The first, and more well known one was his own s/s 95 collection. That one was inspired by mid-century couture, Dior's New Look, Givenchy, all of that. Kate wore an ivory skirt suit with short sleeved jacket and tiny little hat.

The second was Dior f/w 98 RTW, it was like, part Poiret, neon colors, a bit Native American.

HC in editorial^_^
model is Audrey Marney :heart::heart:from old bwgreyscale archive, stam wore the second in the constume institute gala party last year;)

beautiful ornamentation^ :crush:
especially the mint + creme.. those diamonds are like ice water

Are those from the opera collection? The more I see of that collection the more I am convinced that that is Galliano's best couture show for Dior up to date. It even beats his premiere collection for the house IMO. Whoever finds pics of the full collection somewhere gets my eternal gratitude and loads of karma :magic:

It's Hedvig Marie Maigre :flower:
Thank you. In cleaning out my stuff I came across an old Italia Vogue supplement from 1998 that has a ton of backstage photos of the HC Native American/train station collection. I should scan it in.

So, I found a site that had the entire s/s 98 couture show from firstview saved on it and decided to save it and upload it. It's 84 pictures in total, so I'll post a few and the rest are in this here.
