seeing the HQ's really brings this to another level
some of the jackets are really exquisite with their intricate and beautiful beadwork and embroidery...
those will probably be the pieces that sell i think because they're so special and so wearable when paired with something simpler...
some of the gowns are really quite beautiful as well...
it's sort of lacroix's signature to be loud, over the top and opulent...
which is what he did here... though i agree some editing might be appreciated...
what's great about couture is that it is custom-made.. so it can easily be pared back for use in the real world...
the editing can be done after the extravagant presentation...
so, I'm not a big champion of this collection as a whole (although the standout pieces are incredible) but i just revisited the pieces and i can't get over how marvelous and exquisite the bride looks. i would like to wear that around the house. if only.
the backstage photos are incredible! they have made me fall more in love with every single piece. it is my dream to work for this man. i can see myself sitting around in a little paris workroom with a bunch of 80 year old grandmas beading and embroidering till i get blisters! oh to dream...
Yes, I agree with the backstage photos. This collection has one of the most vibrant craftsmanship I've seen, as always with Lacroix. But some of the pieces make me wanna smash my head into a wall.
