Christopher Kane S/S 07 London

^good post, susie...
i was just pointing it out really..it's NOT a bad thing. i said something similar about proenza schouler in new york. it may not be wearable, but who cares?

i can't put it uber intelligently, but fashion is fashion, right? it's creative, and every other industry looks to fashion to find out what's coming next.

Oh sorry Pastry, the ^ sign was referring to the poster before you, not your post! We posted at the same time!

I want to hate this, but I honestly can't. I despise neon colors, but I somehow like this collection. It's obviously not very wearable, but I'd take this over another boring, pretty collection any day :)

I like the detailing on the dresses, like the lacing and embroidery, pleating. I appreciate the flouroescent colors, scratch that, I adore the flouro. It's lukewarm, the bad outweighs the good mainly b/c the bad is really BAD.

you guys hate it that much?...
aw, i thought it was pretty good. when i saw the photos of "the other" collection (what was that? his graduate one?) i definitely wasn't a fan. but this is nice. just looking at the crafstmanship is really cool.

although i will say that it is entirely unwearable!

I appreciate it for the craft. However I would like to see that he has a greater vision to dress women in something other than overworked and slightly contrived loud dresses. I've seen a smattering of his BA work and he has definitely come a long way. But I think he still has some ways to go. He's clever and skilled, this current work shows that but it hasn't shown he's a good designer. I'll be anticipating his next collection.

The colors when paired with the cuts of the dresses look more Cyndi Lauper than Alaia and Versace.

It's so jarring. Short, skin tight bandage dresses are hard enough to pull off, but one in electric yellow or traffic cone orange isn't even worth trying to wear.

Then there's the odd ruffle details and heavy crystal embroidery, rather than add an odd twist to very sexy dresses it just makes them look even more Barbie circa 1986.

I think what's so frustrating about it for me is that it could have been good, as well as right in line with where fashion is right now. Some of those dresses done in softer colors and with less decoration could be very cool and entirely wearable by the young, beautiful and hip. But looking at it I can't help but think, Heatherette much?

Hi,Does anybody know where these dresses can be purchased in the US.
Thanx

^The dresses are hard to get even in the UK so I doubt you can get them at all in the US - they're not stocked anywhere and would probably need to be bought from Kane himself.

^Thanx for the info, but how can I buy one from the designer directly?

I had tickets to Christopher Kane and mananged to fall asleep untill like 10 minuites before It started (miles away) so I just went to Esther Franklin on the off shedual instead - which was running like an hour late so I left and missed that too *sigh*

seeing photos I'm not fussed I missed it :p

(however I also missed Betty Jackson - which I am anoyed at )

:lol::lol: oh alex!

i loved the show. i think the coloration and detail within the same silhouettes was great. granted a collection needs more variation but this intensified the presence especially for a debut.
