Concealer

I use the pen concealer from Clinique. I think they call it airbrush? It comes in a great shade that perfectly matches my skin, and looks very natural.

I use Everfresh from Maybelline, which looks quite natural and Infaillible from L'oreal.

My absolute favourite is The Body Shop Ultra Smooth Liquid Concealer. It goes on easily, matches my skin tone perfectly and covers quite well. The price is pretty reasonable, too (12€, but you can sometimes get it on sale for half the price). And the absolutely best thing - it lasts for ages! I've been using mine daily for like almost a year now. :woot:

I use Dior Skinflash:heart: Its really, really good. It is liquid and not so "heavey" and therefor perfect for my face. i dont have so many zits or other unwanted stuff, just some blemishes here and there.

I've read about how, ideally, one should use several different concealers depending on the colour of what is to be covered up. For example, green concealer on redness, red concealer on greenish under-eye circles, skin-coloured concealer on brown blotches... etc. I have not found a brand which does each of these different types, though. Usually they will only make one type. I have only found one green concealer and it left green bits on my face and did not blend well at all. Does anyone know which store sells good concealers for covering specific colours?

Make Up For Ever has a concealor palette with 5 different colours to tackle various skin issues. The palette comes in 4 shades - european, asian, mixed and black skins.

The product description taken from the website:

Thanks to their dense texture, the Camouflage Creams in the Palette can correct any flaw. With their high concentrations of pigments, they are perfect for covering dark spots and other skin blemishes and for unifying the complexion, even with light makeup. The natural shades are particularly effective for hiding dark circles or puffiness under the eyes, uneven skin color and scars. The corrective shades conceal hyper-pigmented areas.

If you are just after a green concealor alone - MUFE also does that (and others) in seperate little tubs.

I am reading Carmindy's book and she said to dip your concealer brush into the dried pieces of foundation in your foundation lid and to use that in a pinch.

I use Bobbi brown corrector and bobbi brown concealer and LOVE IT, the concealer comes with very fine dust to set your makeup with, and it doesnt reflect light in pictures so you don't end up with WHITE undereyes.

I work at a summer camp for preschoolers, and today a girl comes up to me and goes, "Are you tired? Because you have dark circles under your eyes and that means you're tired!" SO..guess I need a better concealer to hide my impractical night owl/early bird routine!

Try Eye roll for dark circle from Chanel Précision. It will help.

I just started using GloCamuflage from GloMinerals over scars / pimples and it works wonders, it covers everything so well and looks super natural! Still searching for that perfect under eye concealer though...

The absolute best concealers on the market now would have to be Stila's Perfecting Concealer (Actually, all of Stila's concealers are really good) and Make Up For Ever's Full Cover. Stila's concealer is super creamy and has great coverage but it never dries down to give you that pasty, dry look around the eyes. Same for the Full Cover. The look is extremely natural but it's full coverage so it's thicker/heavier.

I use those two as well. do you always use the dust? Do you put it on afterward and then put your face powder on over that?

Which is the best concealer? Have to buy one..

I would definitely recommend Cinema Secrets. It's sold as a foundation, but it's so pigmented it could be used as a concealer. I've tried all the "it" concealers- MAC, Laura Mercier, Becca, Make Up Forever, NARS, Vincent Logo, Amazing Cosmetics, BM, EM, etcetc., but nothing gives as much coverage as CS. I use a sponge and dab and blend.

today i woke up with a damn zit on me nose,

passed by sephora and picked up the
smashbox concealer.

it works wonders. B)

Help me someone. I have all sorts of concealers, Mac studio fix, Prescriptives, bobbi brown, laura mercier secret camoflage, and I just get it wrong! I put it on with a brush, it cakes and looks awful or just comes off, regardless of what I try to do. Are you meant to do it before or after foundation? I now use Mac Select Coverup before foundation and other concealer after. I hate my skin, it's not that I'm very spotty, I just have broken capillaries and so much redness.

I really like Nars concealer in Praline - it is the perfect color for my skin tone, is not cakey or flakey, and I REALLY like the lipstick-esque shape - it makes it really easy to apply.

If you suffer from redness you should tackle it as well as covering it up with concealers :flower:
Have you tried any anti inflametry products / products for roseaca (don't know if I spelled that right!!). Invest in good quality skincare / drink lots of water / eat well etc.
Back to the concealer, if it's looking cakey perhaps you are using too much? There is a really good concealer by Becca, haven't tried it but have heard so many fantastic reviews.
