What is the markdown if you dont' mind me asking?!kLm said:Carpe Diem is on sale at Alan Bilzerian in Boston right now. They've got quite a few nice pieces, and a lot more coming in for the Spring. Also, they refuse to hang it on meat hooks![]()
I'll check it out tomorrow morning. I've got to pick up my jacket, and I'll browse while I'm there (after the Louis Boston sale, of course). I don't know what the %off was, but it was still expensive. They had pants and jackets for sure, I can't remember what else. I had just stepped off of a curb and onto what I thought was solid ground, but it was a puddle a foot deep, and my right boot was full of water, so I was really distracted while I was there.faust said:What is the markdown if you dont' mind me asking?!![]()

Good question. I believe I'm size 2-3 in carpe diem. Should be equivalent of a Small/Medium. Thanks!kLm said:What size are you?
Of course you haven't offended anyone!Johnny said:I thought I'd share my thoughts on c diem, having seens some of it in HNs this week (also not on meathooks).
I've seen c diem before in Paris in L'eclaireur and never thought much of it. But since certain tfs's (whom i respect) have revealed themselves as fans, I thought about buying a piece. They only had a few pieces - the leather shirts, sweatshirts, a white shirt, a leather coat, and a cardigan. I have to say I really can't see the justification for the expense. THere was nothing wrong with it as such, but I just didn't think it was so good as to beworth the serious cost. I tried on the sweatshirt, which was £300. It was just cotton. It was very well cut, frayed edges, nice enough. It was way too small for me (it was a medium and skin tight), but I'mnot sure I would have bought it anyway. I'm just not sure what you can do with a sweatshirt to make it worth that much.
My other thoughts on it:-
1 It's very "minimnalist". This is no doubt heresy, but it looks a little "calvin klein" to me!![]()
2 The leather shirts are very nice, but (a) £1500!!!! (b) the leather is not as thin and as pliable as I thought it would be - I liked the leather on the Rick Owens jackest that I saw better and it's cheaper (c) leather shirts are in their nature quite "flash", which seems a bit incongruous with the philosophy of the label.
3 The cost doesn't appear to stem from the materials used - sweathshirts and shirts are plain cotton, cardigan was 100% wool.
I was just a little underwhelemed and disappointed. I hope I've not offended anyone who wears it (not my intention at all). I was thinking that I might get some this year since my usual (comme and junya) look pretty rubbish, but not sure now. I will however be still looking at Paul Harnden shoes and jackets!
