Creepers

no no no

they're just as bad as doc martens and uggs and crocs for me :ninja:

I didn't like them in the early 90's and I don't like them now, either.

I'm about to ask a stupid question here but...why are they called creepers?

Well, according to Wikipedia...

"Creepers or brothel creepers found their beginnings in the years following the WWII: Soldiers based in the deserts in North Africa wore suede boots with hardwearing crepe soles because of the climate and environment. Having left the army, many of these ex-soldiers found their way to the disreputable nightspots of London (Kings Cross and Soho) wearing the same crepe soled shoes. Those became known as Brothel Creepers."

Hmmm, though most of you disagrees, I think I would totally love a japanese-inspired platform version of them. So street. lol.

I bought my first pair of creepers like 3 weeks ago. I know most of the people hate them but I like them XD. This is the pair I have.

Though it must be said I dont like when people dont know with which outfit they should wear them. -.-;;;; IMO, they look very good when you pick the right clothes [of course you have to like the shoes, if you dont, it probably does not matter what would the clothes be, they would still look awful to some of you xD]

Interesting...
Thanks for that!^_^

are they comfortable to walk in? the soles are very wide and thick and textured dont they make you trip or something? ive never seen someone wearing them irl, im just curious

^ i was thinking the same thing...i feel like if i wore them i'd be tripping over everything.

ive seen a green pair at the mall. it actually was really cool

I think styled right they can look sick. "Styled right" as in not completely or ostentatiously coming off as "OMGZ I'm soooo gawth." w/ Tripp pants garb, etc. kind of rigamarole.
I would buy some if I could... the style/overall look would have to be just right though. I think they look good juxtaposed with florals or other certain patterns.
