I don't think that Scarlett or Christina pull off the Marlyn look. Theyb just don't have the same feel-on physical resemblence. When they go for the marlyn look, it's like they're playing dress-up.

On to the next: I think that Kim Basinger's character in LA Confidential was supposed to look like Veronica Lake. Otherwise the resemblence is to uncanny

BETTE & SUSAN definitely - susan even posed as Bette in that book Face forward.....and it was so scarily similar! thats a great book & a great photoif you can find it......others in it were calista as audrey, amber as clark gable (!) hilary swank as raquel welch, julia roberts as julie christie, gwyneth as faye I think...

i´ve heard about this book.i saw the pictures of courtney love as jean harlow.the results were stunning.i didn´t know that susan posed as bette.i would LOVE to see the pictures !i´m sure they´re great.

i think gwyneth has a very strong similarity to kelly than most of the other actresses
Scarlett also looks like marylin though their similarity isnt obvious they have strong features in common
otherwise most of the actresss posted do actually have some similarities to the people they are said to resemble

I've been thinking about the vivian Liegh/Shalom Harlow comparison. IMO vivan is much more beautiful but there is a bit of a resemblance:

About the Marilyn Monroe/ Scarlett thing, I'm sure there's this scene in 'Some like it hot' where Marilyn is on her way back to the hotel from her date all dressed in pearls and fur... She stops on the steps, and looks back smiling and when i saw that, i was completely baffled by how much that smile looked like Scarlett Johansson's smile!! It was really uncanny! But it was just in that moment i saw it. I don't think they look entirely alike, but something really reminded me of Scarlett in that particular scene.

I can't find a picture of that scene online though and plus, i'm a newbie and not entirely computer-apt so i don't even know how to post pictures... where is one allowed to copy-paste pictures from? Or how else to do it...?

two actresses who have played marilyn and had similar facial features and curvy figures and did it well are ashley judd and poppy montgomery. to me, charlize is too long/thin and elegant and european looking and her manner is more masculine than marilyn's soft dreamy warmth along with marilyn's features being more rounded and soft.

here is poppy montgomery who played marilyn in a movie- she does resemble the more mature marilyn and has similar bone structure...of course neither she nor ashley are dead-ringers...that to me is what makes marilyn so special no one really can look just like her!

Grace Kelly and Naomi Watts, I just saw a portrait of Naomi at the last Oscar ceremony and she resembled a lot.

I don't think that either Ashley Judd or Poppy Montgomery look anything like Marilyn excpet when their made up to. In the face the bone structure and features are too fine. They're not soft enough. I still maintain Charlize is "softer" (and she's not european she's South African=- which has nothing to do with anything really) and I don't see any masculinity. maybe it's just an opinion thing. But I do agree that one of the things that made Marilyn so special is that there are many immitators but no one can look just like her. She was one of a kind

I think Claudia Cardinale (Italian actress from "8 1/2" "Once Upon a Time in the West", "The Pink Panter etc...) looks like someone but I'm trying to figure out who.


I've been trying to figure out who she looks like. Any ideas?
