Dakota Fanning

I think she's starting to dabble into new styles and although she's not there YET, I think it will just take some time for her to get to know what looks good/what doesn't. That's how I see it. I mean, look at any fashion blogger, and most of their style was awful for the first year or so when they started to show interest in style..

One thing is for sure, she has a younger sister who was born with an innate sense of style.

Yeah, Elle's definitely got IT. I don't mean just that she knows what's cute and even better what looks good on her, but I love also that she's always age-appropriate and at the same time she still takes risks. Dakota's very safe and I've noticed that in her personality, too. Everybody's got to grow up, I know, but judging from her interviews she went from this bubbly kid to this very composed, almost to the point of boring, young woman. It's like she's stifling her personality for some reason.

I have to disagree. Elle's style is not really that great. She wears just as much awful stuff as Dakota does.

We're going to have to respectfully disagree. I don't think either one of them has a tragic sense of style. I never said Dakota has awful style. She's never worn anything, that I can recall, that is truly atrocious. It's just boring. She finds one silhouette or one thing that works for her and runs with it. She's repetitive. Elle has had a couple of misses, but mostly she's had hits. She takes risks. I also think that partly she just has the body and uniquely, considering her age, the confidence to pull off most looks.

Yeah, we are most DEF going to have to disagree on everything. Either way, Elle and Dakota have different styles, each have their own misses. It just depends on what style you prefer, as Elle's is different than Dakota's.

I agree with every word.

I think Elle is her own person and wears what she wants, whereas Dakota is more trend driven and never quite gets it right.

oh, i def agree that Dakota's so trend driven. the funniest thing about her own personal style is the fact that you can see it the most directly (or should i say it's only directly visible) through her RC choices. i think that's weird cus for 99% of the other celebs out there it's RC that either just follows their built style (like Charlotte or Chloe C.) or is extremely polished/polished for the sake of the event outfit that doesn't have to do much with their personal style. tbh, the more i see Dakota's candid choices, the more i'm mind-boggled at what her personal style actually is cus it's so hectic (and rarely in connection to earlier or future candid outfits she wears).

^i think she just hasn't found her style yet. i totally agree that there is no constant in her personal style, but she's still young, i just wish she would mix it up on the red carpet as well

oh she's still young, def and it should be put in account, but for someone who's been given all the fashion opportunities in world that she could imagine and for so long, you'd think we'd at least get a glimpse of what her personal style might look like, no?

Surprisingly, I don't hate it. For once, I like her outfit head-to-toe.
