Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane (2000-2007)

the jeans posted above look similar to some that i bought from selfridges last week though the stitching in mine is a different colour and mine are mad in japan (that says that they're made in italy)

Does LVR ever go more than 50% off later on in the sales?
When stuff goes to the outlet section, it'll be 80% off.

I'm not sure, but shouldn't the leather tag on those jeans be stitched all the way around? It's like that on my Dior jeans. Maybe it's different on past seasons.

PaullM, those DH jeans you posted are authentic.
I can say so because the denim is high-quality, with slubs.

Many items people regard as fakes are just old original jeans nobody wants.

Yeah, I'd hate to bid on an item from a seller who practically copies and pastes from someone else's auctions.

Anyone have info???

Yoox has put up F/W items, so far from VOTC. As usual Dior Homme is listed under Christian Dior and Dior Homme. Under Christian Dior initially there were cords in black and beigie and in three sizes. Yoox states they're 'velveteen' but to me they look like the votc cord. There is only a black size 30 left, won't last long as it's cheap at just over 200.00. Already the cord jacket (the only item listed under Dior Homme) has been sold.

^I just looked at that stuff. I'm excited and curious about what other Votc pieces they'll put up.

Which ones are you referring to?

In post #1259, a pair of jeans were posted with a leather tag that isn't stitched all the way around. I thought they were always stitched all the way around, so I was wondering if they didn't used to be like that, or if those are fake, or whatever...

Gotcha. And, no, the tag is not always stitched all around. At least I hope not, as I have a pair of dior jeans and the tag's stitched in the same way... I think it's also stiched just at the top in my cords as well but I'll have to double check. I'm also looking forward to seeing what other votc stuff yoox gets hold of. Bet the pricing for subsequent stuff won't be as low as it was with the cord.

Thats just as well, I just bought those jeans. Everything else looked authentic enough, and as no-one has seen fake Dior Homme jeans that aren't completely obvious, it seemed fairly safe.

all of mine are stitched around, maybe those are from a really old season.

I won the s/s 05 white wrinkled jeans on eBay today. It's funny; I was going to to a Buy It Now for $300, but I didn't have the money in my Paypal account yet. So I just placed a bid for $350 to be sure I'd have them. But no one bid against me, so I got them for $275! Good thing I didn't do that Buy It Now.

Well done. Also: nice work on wearing dior well, appropos the pic you posted on this thread (is the coat dior?). Speaking of wearing dior well, there have been a couple listings lately with fairly horrifying examples of wearing dior really badly. For example he size 46 black blazer that just sold. The person (seller?) modelling that one should be wearing something a little (a lot) more volume. As opposed to the person selling the grey blazer, study in contrasts. I regret not bidding on the black pants which sold yesterday or the day before for a measly hundred, which if the seller had just snapped flat on the floor would have sold for a lot more probably. Bad ebay shopping on my part, distatefully photographed stuff, it's where the bargains are.

Thank you. The jacket & belt are Junya, the t-shirt, jeans, & shoes are DH, and the bag is John Varvatos. It was a picture I posted in "What Are You Wearing Today?" in the Personal Style forum a couple days ago. You should check out that thread if you haven't already. It's pretty good; lots of people post pictures. Great outfits everywhere.

I know what you mean about a lot of people's pictures on eBay. I guess you could say it makes me glad to see that they're selling that stuff as opposed to wearing it themselves.

i went to london yesterday and harrods and selfridges have som of the a/w collection in and i'm quite dissapointed the quality is so bad for the price especially the coated jeans that cost more than £1000 (stupid price)

LVMH expects you to pay astronomical prices to justify those series of 6 glossy minimalist Vinoodh and Matadin pages in Vogue Homme , Arena Homme Plus , V Man , etc etc .

With Dior Homme , it's definitely a case of ' caveat emptor ' .

I was caught once at Browns , and some other times at Selfridges , Exchange Square , Manchester .

NEVER AGAIN .

VICTIM, you should probably add to the fact that the coated jeans are suede, not denim. Arguably still a very tough pricetag...!
