Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane (2000-2007)

Maybe lower, but affordable is going a bit far!:p

Yeah true, but there is a scarf from the A/W collection even I can buy, which says a lot since I can barely afford the gap sometimes.

hey, can those who have worn dh 21cm jeans advise what size would a guy with actual 31 inches waist and inseam of 31 inches get? Should i get size 30 of DH jeans or size 31? And do i need to alter the length a bit? thanks!

Well, assuming 31 inches is your natural waist (the narrowest point of your abdomen), then buy 31 inch jeans.

If 31 inches is the measurement around where you want the jeans to sit then probably buy a 29. The jeans are about 2 inches bigger than stated.

They're also meant to be long, so they bunch up and wrinkle. However, once you've bought them you can work out if you want to take a bit off the bottom.

It's not as straightforward as Paulw suggests. Mainly because jeans sizing changed with the VOTC collection. If your'e ordering online or by mail, you need to find out what season the pants are from. The item number on the hang tag will tell you. If it begins with 4E or 3E or 3H, then the jeans are from follow me, luster or strip. The 21cm from these seasons all fit large. I am a size 32 and the size 31 from these seasons fits me perfectly, hanging quite low on the hip as they're supposed to. If the hang tag begins with 4H or 5E, then you'll want a size 31. The jeans from those two recent seasons (don't know about the fall stuff that's just coming out) fit a size smaller than those from previous seasons, ie, true to size. If the seller does not have a hang tag, ask him to measure the waist. It should measure about an inch larger in the waist than the labelled size (so a size 31 from the latest two seasons would measure 33; the size 30 from the previous seasons should also measure 33.). All of this applies to the 21cm hem; 19cm hem different story.

To edit what I wrote:
Srike this:
"It should measure about an inch larger in the waist than the labelled size (so a size 31 from the latest two seasons would measure 33; the size 30 from the previous seasons should also measure 33.)."

What I meant to write:
dior jeans should be about an inch larger in the waist than your true size. (so a size 31 from the latest two seasons which fit true to size would measure 32; the size 30 from the previous seasons which fit a size large should also measure 32).

I thought this was intresting:innocent:

This is up on ebay at the moment. Wish it was a 50. Have coveted it for a while.

Really? I'm 5'8/9" and about 130lbs. I guess we're just built differently. These jeans I wore for this picture today are 28/18cm, and they're not too difficult to get on. They look slimmer in person than they do in the picture. The guy selling the Strip jeans says they fit more like a 26 or 27, so they oughta be sooo fitted. They'll probably be my idea of a perfect fit. Mmmmm...and I bet the legs will bunch up so beautifully.

Realy nice outfit!
Are those Dior Homme jeans, if so which model?
Awsome shoes as well, just ordered a pair.

Please, uplopad more pics on the shoes with diffrent outfits/jeans. :flower:  :woot:

Thank you. The jeans are the 18 cm 100% cotton distressed and wrinkled smooth canvas from s/s 05. I thought all the wrinkled jeans were the same fabric, but then I got my white ones yesterday, and they're totally different fabric from my black ones. The white ones are more like denim. I love both pairs. And I got my painted charcoal f/w 04 cords today. I love them, too. The painted texture sure feels weird, though.

No more pictures for a while...my camera is broken.

I impulse bought the black leather hi-tops yesterday. So now I have them in black and white leather.

hey alex are you sure yours are 100% cotton? I have those pants and mine are 67% polyester and 33% cotton. the black pants arent really jeans, theyre called the 5 pocket stretch pant. and the white ones are indeed 100% cotton, and those are canvas jeans not denim.

and nice buy on the black leather hi tops saw those on ebay thought they were pretty nice. :flower:

Thank you, Space! That's exactly what I've been talking about.

Can any one shed some light on the classficiation of dior jeans? My understanding is that there only two styles, 19cm and 21cm hem. But that the ACTUAL hem varies between sizes and styles. Ie, the size 32 vintage jeans in 21cm hem measures 21 cm. But the size 28 in the same 21 cm style vintage measures more like 19cm. And isn't it the case that the item numbers reflect this state of affairs? Ie, for each season and style of dior jeans, there are two item #'s, one which reflects a 21cm hem; the other a 19cm hem. I'd love to have this authoratatively cleared up as it's helpful information to have straight if you're buying online....

yea youre kinda right. each style of jean comes in 2 cuts. for this season in particular the blue jeans white jeans red pink ones came in 19 and 21 cm. but the black pant and the sparkle jeans came in 17 and 19 cm. and of course a 21cm cut of a size 28 waist is gonna have a smaller hemm. its like making things in poportion. the tightness of a 21cm cut on a guy who is a 32 waist is gonna be the same as a guy who is 28 waist in a 21cm cut which is actually as you say 19cm.

edit: actually to put it better, its like designing to scale. for example a architect making a tiny doll house model of the home they want to build bu tthey gotta take the same proportions and make it life size.

I don't see anything wrong with that, though. Hedi has improved upon Delcour's design, which is what most designers do. Since we all agree there is nothing new under the sun, all one can do is improve upon what's already there. And in my opinion, Delcour's look is crap compared to Hedi's.

Eddie, I'm positive they're 100% cotton. I recall reading an old post on the MSN group about how there were two different versions this season. I don't remember the details, but that's what a couple people said, and that's what my tag says, so... By the way, are you obsolete design?

I feel the same way. I think Delcour's is quite ugly. And to be honest putting an eye on a shirt is not so much of a novel idea in itself to begin with. Maybe he did copy, but it wasn't anything deserving of exclusive rights.
