Fade to Black said:That Napoleon jacket is an incredible piece...kudos to anyone who could pull it off.
Albert to be honest the jacket's proportions don't look that right on you...this is strictly IMO, but I think it would look better on somebody not that tall. The sleeves seem fine but the waist is really short and the shoulders look really boxy (perhaps it is just the picture)? I find I have the same problem with Dior Homme outerwear, I have tried on a bunch of jean jackets, military jackets, I am too tall to wear them, therefore it creates a "hanging" effect where the jacket seems suspended in mid air and stops barely past my stomach, without properly fitting and wrapping around my torso which is what I wanted from those jackets. Don't know if that made any sense, just my 2 cents...it's weird too, because Dior's suits fit me perfectly. But alas, no such luck with the jackets...
I agree with Kit in that the jacket you got is a remnant of a legacy that is no longer in its glory days...on one hand I would keep it, even as a museum piece because it really represents a peak of a worldwide cultural phenomenon that feels somewhat past its prime nowadays, judging from the S/S 06 pictures. Then again, selling it for a couple grand would allow you to invest in other more wearable pieces that would make the purchase worth it, perhaps from other older seasons too. Decisions, decisions...

PS- if someone is interested in the jacket. I'd rather sell it to someone that I know would truly appreciate the perfection that it is. PM me.![]()

sonno said:Chinorlz, by the way, are the jeans the lurex from last season? I like those on you, they fit really well. I think you could also get away with wearing a size larger. You're lucky to be slim and you could pull off wearing dior jeans closer to the way they're worn on the runway, a little bit lower slung, with just a little bagginess in teh seat. look I think. The jeans in the pic look narrow enough that a size up wouldn't be sloppy at all, with much in the way of extra fabric, but you'd be able to wear them a little lower. Or maybe you've tried that and it doesn't work for you. Like I say, the snug look you've got in the pic works great as well.

An utterly amazing piece; i remember trying it on during Winter 2003 in Selfridges! FWIW, i think it's a wise decision to sell it, as lovely as it is to collect the rare signature pieces i'm sure you'll agree its better to have the pieces that fit perfectly! Btw, what colour did you get the corsage in?
Chinor1z said:Thanks Winston. I'm in agreement with you. It's just so hard to part with something so perfectly made (yet not perfectly fit hehe).
The corsage I got is solid black. I saw a gray one on the Solitaire runway... is there a white and red too?

Is there any chance in getting items listed below:
"heart/love wound shirt" in size 38 (37-39 could work).
Coated shirts from Luster/Strip (same sizes)
Distressed coated jeans in size 28.
Dior sneakers in size 39/6.
Help will be much appreciated.

I'm new to this game. How often do you see those pieces on sale? i usually just buy the most recent collection.
But I really regret not buying those pieces while I had the chance...
Thanks again.
