As for the leather... is carpe diem better than dior? I always considered Dior leather to be quite nice! If it gets better than Dior then I'm all about it!
You'll have to see it to believe it :p

The signature item of S/S 05 is probably that gold bomber jacket...i saw it in person, it seems kind of hard to pull off and I wouldn't pay the $3000+ price tag for something like that.

I still like the brand, despite a dip in quality of certain pieces and the pieces that are obviously mass produced which stray from the Hedi look (At the DH store in NYC I actually saw a polo that had the "Dior" logo on it...haha the only thing about that tee that reminded me of anything Dior Homme was the fact it was in black). To me the signature Dior Homme item remains the black suit, which I was really happy to finally acquire and I am very pleased with the quality of the cut and fabrics, which are superb. I will also still support their cords and jeans, I like their worn in feel.

I noticed that Hedi brought back the old Dior logo as well. Not overly excited about that (except that I can get the same look with the vintage Christian Dior sweaters and such now). Definitely still need to get my hands on one of the suits before the cut gets any bigger! I'm so hesitant to buy one at full price though, I really don't want to spend more than $1000 for it. My roomie just picked one up and it is absolutely sweet!

That sweater is beautiful to look at...but then I tried it on and within minutes my neck was itching so bad I couldn't wait to take it off :(

Jean-Claude Jitrois makes some of the finest leather clothing items that exists.

That logo placement was probably due to LVMH's insistence on commercial profits. It is simply a monochrome rehash of the blue logo that Galliano uses for Christian Dior.

Did you see the black with yellow patent Jean-Claude Jitrois in the David LaChapelle photoshoot in UK Vogue about a year back?

I seem to recall but can not exactly place it. Although my most distinct image of Jitrois is in one of their ads.

With the male model in a full leather suit, and stiletoes sitting on the edge of a bed in an imperious way, and legs crossed.

I loved that. It is probably on their website.

whats the material?

Its a very fine mohair.

I tried on a similar DH mohair knit in Paris and didn't think it was too bad myself unless you've got really sensitive skin.

I guess that mohair eye turtleneck isn't that bad if you're wearing it outside in the cold...but I was indoors, and while it felt fine at first I waited a while and when the heating of the indoors settled in it started getting very itchy.

It's a fine item though, it would probably be great for walking around the streets in this cold midwest winter...shame I couldn't handle the fabric. My mom said I looked so cute wearing it, but even she was getting itchy just watching me in it ...I believe it is sold out at the Dior Homme NYC boutique the last time I went there which was yesterday. When they had still had it in an M it was on the 22nd, next time I went back it was gone.

^ Allergies to wool are dependent on how the wool is washed after they're taken from the animal. Some wools I'm fine with while others tend to make me itch like mad.

Im not a huge fan of the styling of Jean Claude Jitrois items..
although they are quality.

Im not sure they'll be your style.. they look kind of over-done to me.
I still maintain my stand that Continues has the best leather.
The horsehide, camel, etc is also wonderful.

you can see Jitrois stuff at joyce.
here is the site.

I gotta say the fur pieces for ladies by Jitrois are mighty fine!

please stay on topic...dior homme...
a jitrois thread may be needed for those who are interested...
i encourage anyone who would like to start that discussion..

I actually like the 'more earthy' look of brands like linea and VB as opposed to Dior's slick look.
Raijin can you please post some pictures of Linea clothing. I'm not sure I agree on your statement! ;)
