Dior Homme - Runway

I believe thats correct.
Raf's black palms show in S/S 98 also pioneered all those skinny ties, lustrous black fabrics etc.

Not to say the look didn't exist even before them though.
It goes all the way back to 80s I should think.

If you want to further discuss this you can do so in the Dior Homme thread.

Raijin, this thread is for discussion as well, but mainly pictures. Also, remember that you were a Dior Homme fan once, so please, respect others..you haven't been disrespectful so far, but negative comments don't really contribute much to a good discussion for DH fans.

Thx,
;)

basically. if you don't like Dior Homme just say it once and move on...no need to constantly bring up the same thing.

I will respectful though, I don't see the comments Im posting as being the same things I have said before or being inherently negative.

And im not sure what once having been a fan has to do with it

Many fans of DH even admit that Hedi's look is not new and has been heavily influenced by Raf Simons, Dem, and others.
It is not bad thing, I think.

I did not mean to ruffle any feathers. :flower:

It's ok, like FTB said, just don't say it over and over again. Your having a fan has to do with it because we are what you were, fans of Dior Homme, so I'm saying you should understand. I was just saying "Don't burst our bubbles".

I also-f*cking-lutely love Hedi's first collection at Dior, F/W 2001. I like the androginous, edgy, avant-garde chic with hints of punk and military. However, I find his late obsession with excessive goth/punk/grundge too much and tiring. I hope he reverts back to his earlier style, please!

I think the best was when he found some sort of balance between the two, like with Follow Me...those jeans are SERIOUS.

the new rock style is cool too, while the older stuff really had a kind of untouchable vibe to it. Like what softie said about "urban armor" i think if I wore those 1st season outfits on the street I'd be impenetrable (sp?) hahaha

If you've seen Ann dem's work, some of the looks seem to be very similar.
A lot of these people were around way before him.
All im saying is that he did not by any means invent the style.

If your familiar with a lot of other designers you can really see the similarities.

Thats all, back to the topic of the thread.

We can all agree that nobody invented something from ground. All take inspiration from something. Hedi's interpretation of this look is what we love and his razor sharp tailoring. Both Ann d. and Raf aren't making this super slim silhouette (know though this doesn't count as much in Hedi's latest collections).

I'm really started to get disappointed with his newer collections, I really do wish he'd go back to his older style. I'm really dying to see his new collections..

As promised, Spring 2004: :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

i love this outfit from Strip...the jeans kind of remind me of Helmut Lang.

also a lot of people have been saying that VotC is very 80's influenced...but i was looking at it the other day and I'm starting to think it's kind of Mick Jagger influenced. What do you guys think of this?

I like the shirt and tie very much, but the jeans in this picture I really dislike, seriously, it's something Abercrombie could have made if you look at it from a distance (Of course, much higher quality and better details if you look at it close up). I love Dior Homme for jeans, but these jeans I dislike very much. For jeans, I like those from S/S 2005.

Hmm those jeans don't remind me of Abercrombie at all...I picture abercombie as being a lot more shapeless and really boring fading treatments. Basically i see those jeans as being mutilated in a HLang fashion rather than A&F style.

I am going to shame myself by actually visiting the Abercrombie and Fitch website and showing you some pics of their jeans...
