Dior Homme - Runway

...Can you believe they call that sh*t "casual luxury"?!?!?!?!

I don't really see too much of a resemblance other than the color.

Well, I was talking about the fade, which is really awful and it's an overly-dirty look that I don't like much. Yes, the A&F ones are much worse, but really the style isn't THAT different and it's basically the same type of jean.

i see hardly any resemblence to a&f. the cut and treatments are completely different. have you seen the fit of dior jeans? also see the incredibly long inseam (like 37" or something originally, i have all mine shortened several inches). in short, they are very stylized. in contrast a&f jeans are indeed shapeless.

typically i am not one for any sort of unnatural distressed treatment on jeans. i usually wear dior's raw denim or apc jeans. however, those dirty coated jeans from strip look pretty great on the right kind of person, but just for pictures. i'd never wear them in real life.

A&F... it is actually the label I hate the most and comparing it to Dior Homme is disgusting to me...

But really, I can assure you, if I showed those DH jeans to someone who loves A&F, they would love them...but they probably wouldn't care as much for any other Dior jeans. Why, I wonder?

I just don't like the horribly distressed look, whether it's DH or AF. All i'm talking about IS the color.....the distressed look. I know AF jeans are shapeless, have horrible fit, etc...and thank god that I'm not comparing the jeans in fit and shape...I'm just talking about the color and the "distressed" part.

LVHM does not have a good relation with firstview, they have probably removed the pictures.

That's odd. The collections before "Red" aren't working. It's probably just some kind of momentary fluke.

Well, the reason Firstview will never have current and future DH collections (or any other LVMH colletions) is because they got in a legal battle.

With the ongoing success of the Dior Homme thread, I think we should resurrect this one and post pics of runways, shoes, accessories, bags, whatever. :flower:

heh I don't know...it seems like this site is becoming Anti-DH headquarters these days.

S/S 05 has actually grown on me quite a bit...some of it looks really out of place in a high fashion context, as there is absolutely no reason someone should be paying $285 for what is essentially a vintage polo shirt that could be found anywhere (I even saw that Dior did RUGBY shirts this season...ugh Hedi leave that to Ralph Lauren). But some of it is quite nice to me, I'm still as big a fan of the jeans as ever, there are some interesting jackets and button down shirts too. I really like the shirt with the pleated front.

BTW the accessories (based on what I've seen on Eluxury) are hooooorrrrrible. I think the only DH accessory I like is some of the sunglasses. Wallets, bags, belts, not for me.

^I agree. Bad accessories. And it's not that the belts really bother me that much, but they're SOOOOOOOOOOOO overpriced. They look like okay generic crap, not $300-400 belts.

I still think that that ^ is LVMH acting rather than Hedi.

Anyway, isn't it true that some of these things (mainly the crap..) aren't even designed by Hedi but by someone LVMH hires?

^That's what I thought. Can you really imagine Hedi designing that wallet?!?

Hedi still has input, its not done without his approval/direction.

The product manager then designs the product with his instruction.

I do think there is pressure from LVMH of course.
