all my dior jeans are the made in japan. i was in the market for a new pair but just settled for the black wiskered (made in japan) i really like the fact the wiskering is not as pronounced. i have a ysl pair when hedi was there and i don't wear them that much because of the wiskering. i like to destroy my own jeans.

Yeah it sucks that the cut and quality of the denim have decreased in recent seasons...i heard the current orange overdyes don't hold up so well and the orange paint washes off FAST after a couple washes, compared to the VotC's. I'm also not a fan of the 'new leg' trousers either, so I'm really hesitant about pickin up the jeans available this season.

I have noticed though, that all the Dior jeans made in Italy are the ones w/ the broken twill weave...so perhaps the country of manufacturing has something to do with that technique? Made in Japan is always nice though, even if it's mostly a psychological thing for me. My raw denims made in Japan are already wearing a bit in the crotch (well, the fabric isn't wearing but after some washes that area looks lighter than the rest of the jean), but the distressed painted charcoal cords I got which were also made in japan are EXCELLENT.

Sorry for the rant, I'm drunk right now :p

Question for the peeps:

I've been scoping these white shoes on Eluxury*:
http://eluxury.com/browse/product_detail.jhtml?styleid=10816150&SectionID=7000

Any thoughts on the quality/durability of the shoes in general? I have a pair of Helmut Langs from SS2005 and they are rock-solid... wanted to know if I could expect the same here.

*Scoping == waiting for a sale ;)

The construction of DH sneakers has always been rock solid in my opinion. If you've ever seen them in person then you'll know what I mean. They line the inside with the same leather as the outside (or something even nicer at times) all the way through and though which makes them fit very comfortably.

This also gives the shoes more structure and with the hi-tops prevents a lot of the "sagging" that may happen with converse hi tops and other ones.

I've been wearing my converse style hi-tops with the silver leather lining (really cool... i love it!) on a regular basis (probably every other day) alternating between them and my german military sneakers and they have yet to really show any sort of wear. There is some faint wear on the sole, but that's about it.

If it hits the sale, go for it! i'm waiting on the beatle boots myself hehehe

^^^ That is GREAT news... yeah, the sole durability is what I love about my HL sneaks. Yeah, I could tell from the pics that it's lined with leather, which is sooo good, my 4 year old black HL's have a full leather lining... they still look newish. Thanks :)

Yeah the jacket is nice.. too bad its like a million to one shot to find something in ones size in all those asian auctions.

Also good thing about the jeans, i was kinda worried there for a while theyd go with the horrible bootcut coming season as well. Im glad they wont.

Ah, didn't know you were looking for it Chris, my roommate was selling his on ebay last week I believe. It was a 50 and ended at around $800....

Well I have the jacket in 50 in you are interested Chris. I'm planning to sell some stuff in a week. But I saw your post so I'd thought I'd mention it. (Seems like TFS's buy/sell/Ebay rules doesn't apply to this thread eh?)

his personal website is down :/ and my project is almost overdue

Hi all, does anyone know how much this pair of jeans from s/s 2005 was retailing for? Is it worth that price? As I've heard some grouses about deteriorating jean quality recently. Cheers

I had them a while back. The price tag said $310. The denim was thick and durable. No worries there.

o/t: chris, how do you bid on tw yahoo (or maybe hk & jp too if you know) auction though? unless you're located in taiwan, or you have a friend to do it on behalf of you

Hey guys, I made a red wound on white tee version over the course of this weekend (decided to stay in, take it easy... too much partying during the week already  ).

I'm going to be putting this one up on ebay this evening and let the market decide what it's worth to people. So please feel free to bid. I promise it's well made^_^ !

The glass teardrops don't seem to photograph very well in daylight. Since they're translucent (but very dark red glass) they end up reflecting light making them look bright. The second shot is the closest to how it looks in terms of color.

I hand-washed the shirt and dried it flat which is why it's slightly wrinkly in that dried-flat sort of way hehe.

Look for the auction!:D
