Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane (2000-2007)

Was wondering if anybody here could help me out which ones are the Dior Homme orange overdyes jeans in Diabro's. They have their own terms such as love, lame etc which can be a bit confusing. Thanks guys.

So, which one of you is going to win this baby on Ebay?! It's gorgeous.

Would've been the perfect jacket if it was leather. Nevertheless, one of my favorites. How much do you guys think it'll end up selling?

$1200, at least. I think more and more people are getting disappointed in the current Dior collections, and are beginning to hunt for older items.

Uhh... damn nice jacket... too bad it is way too big for me, or else i would have bid on it without hesitation...

Did anybody pass by the DH boutique(NY) or Barneys recently? I'm feeling for some black and searching for my very first pair of black Dior jeans...^_^, what do they have these days?

The only jeans that Barney's has (when I was there a couple of weeks ago) were the dress pant cut orange overdyes.

Dior to my knowledge still has full stock of all jeans types (frost, raw blue, raw black, orange overdye, black whiskered). The black whiskering they do these days isn't so great. You should try to pick up ones on ebay where it's a bit more dramatic and nicer! Cheaper too!

Thanks Albert! You are always resourceful:D

eBay would be more 'dramatic'? You're a man who seems to enjoy the whole drama in shopping for Dior but I can't stand it :yuk: lol. I envy you and your beautiful collection. When I was looking at the photos of your collection earlier, over my shoulders, my gf murmured in Japanese, "he's addicted."

Btw, are the black whiskered ones made in Japan? and what do you think about the frost ones? I haven't seen them yet...

Need to double check - as I recall there were four versions of converse-style hightops from ss 05 - black canvas with red stripe at the base, white canvas with black stripe, e.g.:

black leather with white stripe, and white leather with ? stripe. What color was the stripe on the white leather hightops - if it had a stripe at all? Thanks all

Even though you didn't ask me, yeah the black whiskered ones are still made in Japan, and have always been.

The frost jeans are basically a treated raw denim jean, there are some subtle baked in creases on the thigh area...like a more subtle version of the other indigo jean this season which also looks like raw denim with creases on thighs, except the latter is more pronounced in its creases (also is $475 vs. $385 for frost).

FtB has got you covered there. In terms of "dramatic" I just mean that the whiskering and the distressing is much more significant in the earlier versions than it is now. Now it's more subtle/less pronounced. Since you can't get the earlier season versions of the black whiskered jeans in stores anymore (although Saks had about 7 pairs from Follow Me on their floor a few months ago... they must've found a box of them or something!), ebay is your only way. Plus e-bay ends up being cheaper. There are TONS of jeans on there right now, although mostly the raw denims, but you could likely score black whiskered jeans for under $300. Much better than $500 eh?:D

And yes... I'm probably addicted hahaha. I honestly have pretty much not bought any other designer's piece in a year. A Cloak piece a month ago (t-shirt) and a couple helmut lang basic tees, but that's it. I definitely go for the early collection pieces though. This season I've only got the double eagle tee and the scarf and I'm thinking about selling the scarf. Nothing else I want... a pretty bad collection when it hit stores.

Forgot to mention that there's a cloak tux peaked lapel blazer that I may end up getting this season... maybe. Depends on if I've got the cash. I just got the 60 gig black video ipod (Man... i watched an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm on the train today. Awesome!), and I bought the distressed lambskin Dior homme jacket that was on ebay. Also a couple of luster pieces too. So $2k+ spending in the last few days. Gotta ease it up a bit!

I'll be putting some Dior boots from an early collection up for sale soon. I got in a more complex pair also from Red (maybe Solitaire...), and probably won't be wearing the others because of that. I've currently got a Solitaire thick wool tank on ebay if anyone is interested too!

Thank you mister FtB and Albert!

I shall pass by this week and look at it myself. Maybe I'll pick it up.
I prefer trying on the garments before I purchasing them and see whether they look good on me especially jeans and knit wear. And besides, I noticed it is rare to find a 28-29 waist size Dior jeans on eBay, no? (excluding Diabro-like eBay stores)

FtB, do you wear Dior suits? I remember seeing a photograph of you wearing a suit, right? and it looked great on you. I have few Lad Musician suits which all of them are only wearable at a weather like in California and winter is arriving soon. Btw, I [have to] wear suits on a daily basis. I haven't paid much attention to Dior suits except on eBay which are ":yuk: " (personally). But I would like to own a set so I'd appreciate if you would 'guide' me on Dior suits :D or anybody who owns any. Thanks a mil.

LOL I also bought a black 30gig video iPod and watched Kate Moss dancing on a pole half naked for a White Stripes music video on the train this morning.

how badass is the video ipod?! If you don't already have the software needed to convert ANY video to the format playable by the video ipod, pm me. I found it online yesterday and it's free and faster than the quicktime pro junk.

I've got War of the World on mine now, and I found a guide that tells you how to rip DVDs into ipod video format!

As for Dior suits, the pinstripe one on ebay right now is really sweet. There are occasionally the perfect 2 button black suits which are also very nice.

I personally own a 2 button black (superslim cut) from... Strip I think and a gray 3 button from Solitaire. They're very nicely constructed. Because the material is stiffer than many other brands and is cut closer to the body, expect the classic wrinkling at the elbow crook. They're really nice suits though. Even someone who knows nothing about suits can see that these stand out awesomely.

I plan on rocking my black two button for med school interviews (once the invites actually come in...grrr). It'll beat the hell out of everyone else's cheap, ill fitted suits without making a huge scene. The nice thing about a well made, and well cut suit is that it truly brings attention to the wearer himself. Unlike say a creative jacket like the napoleon which draws attention to the clothing first, then the wearer. That's just my opinion.

But yeah, you can get dior suits for under $1k. Mine were $1k and $600. Good people, good deals. Don't need to pay $2k+!

This is about the only thing that makes the New York subway tolerable. I must consider buying one...

Hey Albert, or anyone, what's a good price for the black raw denim jeans on ebay?

def get the 60 gig. $100 more than the 30 gig, but you get double the memory, it's barely thicker AND at least 1 extra hour of video playback time! That's VERY key.

By the way, scrounge up your old college (or current college id) and save $30!

As for the black raws... around $200 would be pretty solid. That's about the price that the raw blues seem to go for now on there.

ah, that's the smooth leather version of the destroyed leather jacket. It's also on y! in a 50 for around $2600. I've actually only seen the one i've been looking for once and it was a 48 on y! too. A real killer... 2 cm off!!!!!

Thanks for lookin out for me thoug buddy!
