Dita Von Teese Dumps Marilyn Manson

ok lets clarify something here.. even though i stand to what i said about him being ugly and her being too pretty for him.. its certainly not what i base a relationship on BUT we are in the "rumours" section and its the only place i allow myself to say whats on my mind.
noone here can say what their personality is like and if i start analysing his songs, it would certainly only epmhasize my dislike for his ideals. but since i dont know her ideals i didnt say "oh they didnt match...etc". its personal and thats why i only commented on the looks as its the ONE thing everyone sees : the appearance!
and whoever here said he is attractive, respect to you for finding him attractive  (apart from his look, i remember is some lyrics in his songs which i didnt find attractive at all.... :()

as for any couple splitting up, it doesnt make me happy nor sad if i dont know them, but esthetically speaking i had to add my opinion in this case-_-

I understand your point, and I do not have any comment on either of these celebrities. It's just funny how "the rumours" section makes it allowed to people to say such idiotic things as "she was too good looking for him". I get that the appearance is all we see and I agree with you 100% with that, but why do you need to make a comment about that? If you normally don't think like that, why does the reason that you don't know these people personally make it ok? Would you say that about non-celebrity couples whom you only know by their appearance? Just because you don't know the people in question is not a reason for comments like that IMHO. If you don't think so, I do not see why you would be triggered to say that when it's not someone you know in question.

whitelinen,

the whole idea of you addressing your concerns shows that you on the opposite do care about this couple. maybe you do know them personally and in this case i would understand.
however, i find it absolutely NO big deal to have said what i did and "yes" in a joking way i do place such comments when the situation arises between friends or even about myself.. example: "why would brad pitt come and ask me out, he is way better looking than myself..???" (not that i really care about brad pitt either but its just an example) now to answer your question :why do we care?
my answer: well why do we care at all about this topic if that is??

having said that i do NOT call ANYONE on this board shallow or idiotic (even though believe me, often there seems to be the need) as this itself is silly.. its a personal attack which i think is far worse than commenting on a topic like the one here...

lets see the humour here and move on please without any personal attacks. thanks:flower:

Wow! I always wondered what a gorgeous girl like her was doing with a pitiful looking guy like him. Like you all, I thought she probably loved the publicity and that, at the very least, that was part of the attraction. I doubt it was calculated to be with him for the celebrity, but somewhere in the back of your mind certain things ($, fame, good family) can influence how you feel about a person.
I agree with you. I don't think she used him, but probably all those things make a person seem attractive. She's better off without him and I'm on her side. I would never wish divorce on my worst enemy even.

Hmm, I swore I wouldn't post in this thread, but it amazes me that so many people here think that in looking for a long term partner is up to good looks ... are people who like fashion this shallow? Maybe it is just me, but I'd go for personality first. It is personality which makes someone attractive and the relationship to last. I have never heard of a happy marriage because of looks. What would you even talk about? Your make-up?

I don't have anything to say about this subject of Manson's and Von Teese's divorce, but the fact that so many intelligent people here think looks are absolutely important in a relationship is somewhat appalling. You can base a one-night-stand on good looks, but a life long committed relationship? That certainly cannot be based on good looks.

It’s not so much what he looks like but how he carries and portrays himself. As silly as this may sound, some of what is on the outside is an indicator of what is on the inside, no? He obviously has some internal reason why he feels the need to make himself look like he does. Maybe he likes the attention, maybe he feels like death on the inside and in turn shows it on the outside.

It's not so much as her being more attractive... it has more to do with the fact that she looks like she takes good care of herself, and has an elegant personality to match. He just looks like death and sounds like death in interviews…seems like he is trying too hard for attention and failing miserably. If he’d take off the 24-hour clown make-up and look awake during interviews I’m sure he’d be a good-looking guy.

Relationships shouldn’t be based on looks but would you ever see a fitness model with an overweight slob? It’s doubtful since they probably have nothing in common mentally or personality-wise. The same goes for these two. He seems like a depressed and confused individual with a social dysfunction and she seems like a confident woman who cares for herself.

Dita herself said that Manson has too many demons.

He shows it a lot on the outside.

There are a lot of people who are disturbed on the inside and show it on the outside. Maybe it is a sort of therapy for them?

But marylin manson is immaculate... his grooming, although may not be normal, is beyond perfect almost 99% of the time. He is ridiculously articulate and artistic.

The same things could be asked about a young blonde girl who becomes a stripper.. she dyed her hair black and feels she needs to dress in 50's clothes and dance basically nude in a glass full of artificial absynthe to make money.. no?

I dont want to rant on and be annoying.. I have no idea why they broke up and actually dont want to.

Really, I think Dita is way too good for him and I'm not judging by looks. Honestly, the only time he was ever intelligent sounding was back when he was with Rose McGowan. Since, then he's just sounded like a blubbering fool. Did anybody ever read his interviews about Celebritarianism? It truly led the reader nowhere. I can't think of one thing he ever said that was intelligent and was his own. Please, someone who thinks he's smart, give me an example. I mean it, I'm really interested how people could think he's smart. I'm guessing that it's because he wants us to think he's complicated and reads real smart guys? The whole idea that the children are our guns that he did in one painting I knew he adapted from another author and everything else he's ever said that sounded semi-intelligent has been adapted (not built upon) from someone else's opinion.
I remember a time before Marilyn Manson when goth was sexy, and ever since him and the Spooky Kids, the image "goth" projects is of a bunch of kids with really stringy black hair and bad hygeine. To me, he dumbs everything down.
I think Dita is rsponsible for him dressing so well lately because he never did before. The most chic look he ever did without Dita was the Mechanical Animals look.
I'm actually suprised that Dita made such a brave move to get out of the relationship when she needed to and I commend her. I bet he already has a girl lined up just to show up with her somewhere and let the world know he has his mojo going because he seems so petty and insecure from the way he kept whining about Rose McGowan. And look, I guess Rose was not really lying if she said his use of intoxicants got to be too much. I say Dita can only go up from here and I back her all the way.

Did anybody else notice from their Vogue wedding spread that Alexandro (the friend presiding over their ceremony) said something in their vows about not being tied down to each other exclusively? In other words, monogamy was not a requirement? Did I read that wrong or did anyone else get that?

I havent read that actually.
What ever he is.. good or bad. More to the point I personally liked... the style he brought out in her. I like the darker more seductive gothic things she started wearing after meeting him. That i shall miss :D

Yes, that had it's good points, but maybe it won't have to go after all.I do hope she picks up on her more quirky colorful outfits she wore before him. Goodness knows I'm getting tired of her only wearing established designers. The whole fashion scene with what designers are putting out and the magazines only advertising for boring things or even reasonably interesting items for $14k and up. It's annoying and I wish someone creative like Dita would lead us out of this mess but I'm dissappointed to see that she hasn't picked up the slack.

I thought they would be together forever... they're both just so wierd.

I only wish happiness for both of them. In all honesty, however, I didn't really know if they were soul mates, if only because I never really got the same energy from them as I did from him and Rose McGowan.

I am sorry if I was too pressing :flower:

I don't have anything to say about this couple, and I don't have hots for Manson, so that is not why I didn't like what you (and some other people) said. The thing that got me off was simply that I thought there are people who think looks are an indicator of a balanced relationship. I don't see the humour in celebrities, I think they are pretty much all attention whores, but I still wouldn't make rude comments about them. They do want to expose themselves to the public themselves, but I still do not see why someone has an interest of "getting a humour fix" from bashing people's personal affairs.

So all in all, the thing that set me off was just that I think it is idiotic if someone thinks it is the looks and outside that matter in a long term relationship (well, if it works for the person in question then go for it, but I doubt it will last), no matter was the person joking or not (you can't really even see that on written text in internet). Especially when I saw a comment like that coming from you, whom I have thought to be a smart and mature member here (and I adore your shoe collection). I guess we had a bit of a misundestanding here :flower:

CelineChic, I do not care about this couple at all, nor any other celeb couples. This could have been any celeb divorce thread I clicked on in boredom. :flower:

maybe now rose and dita can be friends, they would probably hit it off...

He's always been this ugly... so I really doubt that they broke up because of that.

word is that it could be because he's supposedly obsessed with Lily Cole... either way, what a pity.

Marilyn Manson Dating Evan Rachel Wood

TUESDAY JANUARY 09, 2007 11:00 PM EST
By Ken Lee

Rocker Marilyn Manson is romantically involved with 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood, sources close to the situation tell PEOPLE.

The sources say his relationship with the Thirteen actress was a factor in the Dec. 29 divorce filing by Von Teese, 34, Manson's wife of one year.

"Dita is heartbroken, she didn't see this coming," says a source close to the burlesque dancer and MAC cosmetics model. "His partying contributed to the split as well."

Manson, 38, and Wood have been friends for some time. According to his official website, Manson first met Wood when he asked her to be in his upcoming horror film, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.

In addition, she posed for a watercolor that he painted, and attended the opening of his new Hollywood art gallery, the Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art, last Halloween.

"It came as kind of a shock," Wood told Rolling Stone about being asked to pose. "I was beyond flattered."

Manson, who is currently in Paris, was unavailable for comment. A rep for Wood would not confirm the relationship. A spokeswoman for Von Teese did not return calls for comment.

....seriously? :shock::blink::huh:
