Rocker Marilyn Manson is romantically involved with 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood, sources close to the situation tell PEOPLE.

The sources say his relationship with the Thirteen actress was a factor in the Dec. 29 divorce filing by Von Teese, 34, Manson's wife of one year.

"Dita is heartbroken, she didn't see this coming," says a source close to the burlesque dancer and MAC cosmetics model. "His partying contributed to the split as well."

Manson, 38, and Wood have been friends for some time. According to his official website, Manson first met Wood when he asked her to be in his upcoming horror film, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.

In addition, she posed for a watercolor that he painted, and attended the opening of his new Hollywood art gallery, the Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art, last Halloween.

"It came as kind of a shock," Wood told Rolling Stone about being asked to pose. "I was beyond flattered."

Manson, who is currently in Paris, was unavailable for comment. A rep for Wood would not confirm the relationship. A spokeswoman for Von Teese did not return calls for comment.

Is it normal for a 37-year old man to be senile already? Well, if he's "partying", it must be on Valium because this clown looks like the slowest most boring party train I've ever seen. I guess if he's already a has-been he can start self-destructing by chasing plain-faced little girls. He's so sad I find it hard to keep from laughing. I knew he would already have some girl waiting because he's insecure about his prowess he has to show it off. I bet if he cheated, he did it more to hurt his wife than anything else. He really had the best when he was with Rose and then Dita. Those two are the end of the "femme fatales" he'll ever get now. I'm on team Dita, and the most idiotic thing is that he's conformed and become another old fart who chases 19 year olds. What a has-been.

I agree with people like White Linen who have been saying that comments like "he was too ugly for her" are somewhat shallow.

BUT in this case, it is not about his looks, it is about his look. Whilst I admire creativity and expression, I have to try and understand where people like my parents are coming from when they find people who look like Marilyn Manson dreadful. People who are super tattooed (I am tattooed so I am not criticisng them -I am using it as an example) or pierced or take part in bodily mutilation are sending out signals that they embrace something that is societally 'other', unnaceptable or dark. And other is fine as long as it is positive or hopeful or about acceptance. But when the point is merely anarchy, I have no sympathy. I think people get rebellion and anarchy very confused. Rebellion is a subversion of the established system to get a better societal order. Anarchy is purely selfish because with such a nihilistic world view, one is impinging on the life of others. It is not particularly brave either because instead of making the best of things, one is making the worst of things. And from what I know of Marilyn Manson and his music, he is not a rebel, he is an anarchist.

So at the end of the day, how we choose to look (not how we were born looking) is a great insight into someone's personality. And yes, she is probably better off.

That said, she seems boring as hell. In her interviews she is very plank-like.

I remember a time before Marilyn Manson when goth was sexy, and ever since him and the Spooky Kids, the image "goth" projects is of a bunch of kids with really stringy black hair and bad hygeine. To me, he dumbs everything down.

Yes, he must be like the goth equivalent of the Pistols. Where Patti Smith and Television used punk to reinvigorate and inspire, the Pistols used it to get famous and behave like a bunch of twats.

Well, Dita was a real lady, now Manson seems to want a girl again...I guess all men prefer girls over women because they are "easier too handle"...I guess she still looks up to him "the artistic Rockstar", while Dita was doing her own thing, her performances, cosmetics contracts etc with the attention that she got through him...
