lmelanie, your pair of Docs are lovely.

Do they all come as high tops or is that style of Docs most popular?

I think it was the first new episode of Hannah Montana ( Quit judging!) that she wore some amazing yellow ones.

Does anyone know where I can buy a black pair of Doc Martens 'Bonnie' in the USA? I really want a pair but have had no luck finding them over here.

boo...the docs i got from etsy are 1 size too small!! ebay it is!

I have those same purple docs above on this page ^^^ and today I colored that orange thread in the bottom with black sharpie so that it wouldn't stand out anymore. Looks much better now I think... ^_^

These look cool. Jean Paul Gaultier for DM, he's doing a series of boots. Time to get customising.

I realli hate those Jean Paul Gaultier docs. I usually love what he does but this just doesn't work for me. imo docs work just as docs, no heels/new designs. The look best when they are raw. I recently sold my beloved pair to my sister. I had them for years and got good wear out of them but am more into ankle platforms atm. Again with docs and the whole grunge/90's look. imo it only looks good when executed authentically. I am so sick of seeing girls in the 'uniform'; studded braclet, shiny new docs, skinny leggings and flannel. Mr doc would be turning in his grave!

Luxi, I know what you mean. I think Docs are the best when they become like an extension of your feet. Something that you wear all the time and can't care less. It's that much harder for it to become part of you when 947573 other people are wearing it the exact same way. It becomes a little fake.

I'm still deciding (after so long!) on whether or not I should get one. If I do though, it's probably the monotone black ones. But I find it hard to make it work for my minimalist/girly style.

I'm kind of in the same boat, It's been worn with the same style everywhere, I'm still contemplating on getting them.

I bought a pair of the 8-hole Docs in white a few months ago! Sadly, I've only worn them a couple of times. Kind of wish I had gotten them in black because I'm not sure I can ~work~ such bright things on my feet. Perhaps they just need to be dirtied up?

I finally got the dark red pair, and am having the same trouble working out how to wear them - is the little dress and big boots thing too much of a cliche these days? It's always been my foolproof winter look, but now everyone is doing it.

I do love them though! All my other chunky boots are black, with buckles and whatnot, which is why I went for the red.

I've had my 8 hole docs for years, im glad there revived i dont get as many weird stares - not that i cared to begin with...

to Clothes Addict those docs with a little slip dress would look amazing i personally dont think its over done :-)

I wore mine with a floral playsuit the other day, it looked great. There are stares but I don't care anymore.

In one of the pictures there was a pair that hit just at the right part of the ankle to be super-flattering. I like those in particular.
