Dries Van Noten S/S 11 Paris

really nice collection. i like how he worked the volumes, love the shiny pieces (dying over this jacket) and, well, i can never resist his florals, even though they're not particularly impressive this time.

Meh, the colors are a bit lackluster for me. Not really digging the prints in the collection. :ermm:

i dunno,i'm rather underwhelmed by this. dries is so much stronger than this. where's the magic? he's really one of the very few designers i actually get excited for with spring collections. this however, imo,is quite mediocre. any cheesy NY designer can do this.

huge dissappointment for me.wheres the classic bohemian chic meets ethic?? :ninja: I was in love with last previous collection because of ethnic and boho details.now all flowers and cheap looking white trousers are suprising. Dries, what happened to you? flowers are not Dries style.romantic looks...something went so wrong.

This collection is all fine and dandy, but, for the regular Dries customer, this is nothing you can't already re-create w/ pieces from previous collections.

Regardless, I love it for what it is.

Nothing new,nothing great
It's the same flower printed stuff with different colors all over again...YAWN

I expect very colorful and loud collection but seems like this season is totally divided with either subtle or extremely bold. I like the collection a lot but I wish there's something mor e from the collection. Still, the ombre pieces are gorgeous.

I love the ombré idea and execution, and in general the colour palette is very appealing, although a bit tame for Dries van Noten stantards.

Overall I'm not very enthusiastic about this collection though. This volume on volume, top and bottom, although no stranger to DvN aesthetics, is off-putting to me. And to be honest, I find few individual pieces gorgeous or interesting.

I'm seriously drooling over these blouses though (credit: Vogue.fr)

Completely disappointed this season. Usually DVN has the ability to take something that could be quite granny and make it very modern and chic, but this collection doesn't seem very wearable to me.

I do agree that it looks quite NY-ey, but a good NY collection ;) There's something about it, just the spirit put into it, that makes it Paris. I'm not really a big big fan of Dries, so maybe I'm not one to talk, but but I liked this collection a lot. I'd wear more of it than I'd wear some of his other previous seasons. Of course, I don't really remember them but... this is more everyone's style, good for commercial but still pretty fabulous :D

How terrible and matronly. So disappointing and I hate those prints so cheap and tacky looking.

Amazing collection as always, Dries never let me down. I love the play on the proportions. But what please me the most its the faded flower prints and colors that give a more intimate aspect to the clothes. Its more than vintage looking clothes, they make me think of pieces you love so much that you keep wearing them over and over through the years and their original color is starting to come off, you keep wearing them because they have a history. There is always a lot of passion and magic in Dries clothes an d you can feel it once again.
I also have to give him credits for the amazing work on those shimmery pieces

I like pastel colours so this collection didn't disappoint me. I'd like to touch the materials, they look so soft.

I miss the prints that DVN is known about. But i have to say, the collection is beautiful. I love that yellow coat on 1st page. Great jackets! The shoes are so pretty and i like those clutches.Very disco-glam-romantic if i can put it that way.

I feel like he took the season off and had his assistants crank this out for him

Not feeling this at all, kinda plain and reminds me something that would fit in year 04/05 more...

I like the feeling this collection gives me (like taking a big whiff of fresh flowers), even though I agree the clothes on their own are not especially new or covetable. His collection very effectively conveyed a tone and spirit for spring - it's like it's not just clothes. The details on the clothes are also very beautiful, but I guess those are pleasures for the wearer, rather than people viewing them.
