^ Totally one of the most iconic memories was of her posing with Warhol and Chuck Wein in the New York manhole. The vision of her long legs with black tights, high heels, black t-shirt, bleached blond hair, and chandelier earrings is just UNMATCHED. She's a legend.

her fashion style will never go out of fashion.there's nobody like her and never will be.

It came in a package with Beauty #2 as well...^_^

Chelsea Girl would've been cool to see too...maybe next time.

I thought she was cut from Chelsea Girls?

Question.
Was all of Edie's hair bleached blonde? or was it just the top layer?

^I know! I'm almost positive I read that in the American Biography...like they went to Max's Kansas City to celebrate it or something

oy i can't give you any more karma dandelion  but thanks so much, I've never seen those!! :flower::flower:

tomorrow a Warhol exhibition is opening it´s doors at the Stockholm Modern Museum of Art. and it will be open until May 4.
I will definently go there more than once...

though I am very pissed at missing the opening tomorrow, which will include John Cale talking about Andy. I have to work
totally sucks.

anyway... about the exhibition...
It´s called Other voices, Other rooms.
They´re going to show the following movies:

Chelsea Girls
Blow Job
Empire
Sleep
Kitchen
Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of
Haircut (No. 1)
Henry Geldzahler
Soap Opera
Couch
Mario Banana (No.1 & No. 2)
Harlot
John and Ivy
Screen Test
Poor Little Rich Girl
The Life of Juanito Castro
Horse
Outer and Inner Space
My Hustler
Camp
Paul Swan
Mrs. Warhol
The Velvet Underground and Nico
Hedy
Bike Boy
The Nude Restaurant
Lonesome Cowboys

I´m mostly looking forward to seeing Kitchen & Horse, the other Edie movies I have already seen, but I will probably see them again ^_^
I did hope for Lupe...

And they´re going to show a lot of screentests, Edie´s I hope :)
and Andy´s video diaries, though they´re supposed to be from the 70´s, so no Edie, still fun to see.

and of course there will be paintings, photographs, tape recordings and all kind of stuff.

I am really looking forward to this :D

I wonder if she ever was on a talk show of some kind, it would be amazing to see it.

fairyx you're so lucky! I wish something like that would come to where i live!

I don't know about the whole Carson thing. It says she was on the show in the Jean Stein book but i wonder if it's ture. If it is, i hope someone finds the footage and posts it somewhere. What i really want to see is the footage of her from the last night she was alive. Was the show called An American Family? Something like that. I wonder where that is!

A few of Edie's drawings... from andy warhol 365 days

Well she did study art and sculpture at Radcliffe (Harvard) before it all happened. She loved to paint and sculpt animals --- not abstractly, but in an honest, realistic, "down to earth" way, it's so funny to say she was down to earth but inside I think she was, it was the external side that was flamboyant and carefree, the inside was practical and tortured.

She was on "An American Family" - the first 'reality' tv show - the last night of her life, but only in the audience, I think. She was supposedly on the Johnny Carson show, but I think all Carson footage before '72 has been destroyed.

She was cut by her own asking, I think I read somewhere that it was replaced by footage of Nico.

As for her hair, it always looked mostly blonde to me.

^yeah that was when she supposedly had a contract going with albert grossman so she wanted cut

I think it said, in the American Girl book, that when she was on An American Family they camera came over to her to interview her and hse lit up. But my friend stole my book so i can't look it up.
