I think that there hasn't been a movie made exactly about Andy is because everyone who was really close with him was extra protective about him because he obviously wanted to stay in the shadows and was super secretive about his own alone time, family and relationships.People feel like he really gave them a life in the spotlight of his own and wouldnt want to do that to him or his name or legacy. It would be the ultimate betrayal.
Everyone who has played him in movies havent been able to do it well-he was beyond unique, very touching but yet very very cold.

That is kind of ironic considering the activities and potentially degrading positions he filmed some people in. I like Andy and all, but I think it's weird to be so protective about his privacy when he seemed to really thrive - and to some extent use up - exhibitionists like Edie.

I do absolutely agree but that's just the way it is.There is even alot of blame on Edie for doing it all to herself in the Warhol camp and then outside the camp people in other groups blame Warhol completely for encouraging Edie and others to self destruct offering nothing but their spot on a Warhol film and dinner at his table. It's really sad about Edie-she had no true friend.

Thanks for all the lovely pictures in this thread -- it's one I always come back to, even if I haven't commented yet.

However, I will comment on this: It just makes me laugh on how territorial some people are over Edie. It's much of the same vein of "Well, I heard of [insert obscure, white-belt wearing band that probably sucks anyway] first, and now they're, like, being played on the radio." If you love the style, or love the band, wouldn't you want them to be celebrated/enjoyed by as many people possible?

Yeah, a mass-produced knock-off of Edie-ism would suck; but her influence is out there for anyone's taking. I see nothing wrong with younger women seeing this upcoming movie and then using it as a springboard to start to dressing "edie." It's hella better than them dressing "britney" or "paris."

Anyway, just my thought ...

I would love to see it. Just press post reply, manage attachments, browse and you're there. Remember the pix have to be less than 300K, though.

Sounds like you could pull off the Edie look - if you have the right vibe ;)

i do.
i am doing my protfolio work about her style and i need all the information that possible about her style.

sometimes she reminds me of pete doherty.

Could you elaborate?
I've got the same vibe sometimes but can't exactly tell why Pete reminds me of Edie. Maybe because of their addictions, because they were/are exhibitionnists and fragiles.

Have you read the biography on her? Also, there's a book about that time period called Factory Made that tells lots of info about her and her style.

Do you guys have pix of Edie and Bob Dylan? I know they were going out, for a period of time, he wrote ''just like a woman'', ''like a rolling stone'' and ''lay lady lay'' are about her

post 525, I noticed Edie got very skinny... that's really sad.

She had life long problems of all sorts - her eating disorder was one of them. The girls and boys who are interested in Edie and who haven't read "Edie:American Girl" should read it asap - it's an absolutely fascinating document about a really truly sick - but gifted and interesting - family. Edie should have done so much more in her life - she was crippled from the start, poor girl.

I've found it on Amazon... But I'm not from UK...

I mean, I don't care about how to look like her, but I'm interested in some pics of her, some things about her, see what I mean? ^_^
Well, it would be nice!
Thanx!

The model's name is Catrina.

It's cute, but IMO that model has nothing of Edie over her, except the styling (even though it feels like they missed something very important about the eyes...). Thanks for the scans :flower: She was meant for Audrey Hepburn style or something like that. Definitely not as complex and sad as Edie.

I guess I'm with the "Edie elitists" a bit here. I don't much like people with no Edie vibe doing Edie - it just looks pathetic.
