wow first post! i have been religiously following this thread for MONTHS AND MONTHS. i've wanted to comment so many times, but i wasn't a member. i'm a HUGE edie fan. everyone thinks it's a bit creepy actually. yall should see my room. haha. anyway, im just really excited to finally be a part of this.^_^

Anyone have any suggestions as to where to find long earrings besides the ones from Ebay??

i have some on my website that i put up for sale. i wore them on halloween, as edie of course. ( i was dead edie... if you can't tell. i had some awesome fake track marks.) i'll post a pic.

Can you guys tell me why you so dislike the movie Factory Girl? I think in large it did stick to the big picture no? Am I wrong?

^ I don't think it did. It made Edie look like a victim and Andy the anti-christ, apparently, which is not true to life at all and just sensationalism.

i actually really like the movie...as a movie. considering how many people from the past who knew her in real life, im surprised how some of the details were wrong. but who REALLY knows what happened, some things we will never know. but honestly, i think they did show andy as accurate. he really did just use her, and she bought into all of the hype. i wonder if he ever did really care for her, or if that was just part of the movie.

I also like the movie as a movie. I like the fashion in it and I also think Andy, based on what I know about him was portrayed pretty accuratly. Unfortunatly I don't know small details of Edie's life ( I am looking for her bio right now), so I would love it if you guys would tell me what was not right in the film? I would really like to know as much as I can about Edie.
Thanks all, and thanks Pony.

I'm SUREEEEEEE she was WAY FIESTY-ER than they portrayed her. She didn't seem to have a mean bone in her body in the movie, but I bet she could throw down.

agreed!
really just reading her bio will help loads for anyone who actually thinks factory girl was a good movie.

I really disagree that Andy was cold-hearted and that he wouldn't have accomplished anything without Edie Sedgwick, considering she was only around for about a year and not even all that famous. I love Edie Sedgwick, but considering nobody here actually knew what happened between them, I really don't think it's right or appropriate to say that he used her and that she was just some helpless pawn.

Ok^^ Well I'm getting a bit tired of this the-factory-girl-is-good-or-bad^^ Let's talk about how amazing Edie is instead :P

I completely agree! I think it's just as useless to say that Andy ruined Edie as it is to say that Andy was totally innocent. It seems like everyone who knew them has a different opinion of the situation. I think that they both had their faults but their falling out is so exaggerated it drive me mad! Everyone has the right to believe what they want but i just find it very inconsiderate to a whole lot of people to make a movie on the subject.

Sorry loonaka and eli marie but i had to get that out! :)

Yeah I know me too^^ But I love going through my gallery or the pictures I've collected and her books, just to look at her..she's so amazing and I always wish I could cut my hair like hers again, but my BF wants me to have long hair again :P
