^I know. at this point i have soo many photos of her that just flicking through them on my computer (or looking through edie:girl on fire) is enough to get me through the day ^_^ I end up seeing a lot I've forgotten about

I so know what you mean^^
I kinda love and hate watching her films because I love seeing her and hearing her talk and everything about her, but I also hate it because she's so far away..I know she's dead but it's like I can't understand her or something

I like this picture of her. She looks like a little boy.

^yeah that's one of my favorites also. I love her jacket, she looks incredibly modern there.

there is something other-wordly about her (I know that kind of phrase is used a lot to describe her, but it's the only way I can put it)
I don't know if it's the whole scene, but there's just something about her that doesn't seem real...

(and sorry about the double post everybody, hehe:blush:)

I totally understand you eli marie, even tho I've read loads of books on Edie and I know that they're suppose to be biographical it sometimes hits me that she hanged out with Bob Dylan and Lou Reed and that's ppl that are alive right now...and that means she's real...she isn't some made up person..

I really wish she wouldn't have been so ****ed up and would have stayed in the scene without Andy at her side. I would have loved to see what she could have accomplished. I mean... look at Betsey Johnson, she lived in the factory, or hung out there, (right?) and she's still fabulous.

^well...people put way too much emphasis on the influence the factory had on her. she was troubled and a drug addict, I'm not sure what she would've accomplished honestly. and I'm not completely sure but I don't think betsey hung out at the factory. edie was, however, a fitting model for her.

and I know exactly what you mean loonaka, about bob and lou. exactly. it's very strange

well, i could be wrong, but in the bonus features from factory girl, betsey johnson had an interview where she stated she hung out at the factory. again.. i could be making it up, but im preeeeetty sure. well, i just mean i know she was pretty talented, artistically, so i wonder if she would have accomplished anything from her drawings, or even acting.

Betsey Johnson hung out at the factory after Edie had left and married John Cale but Edie was still in New York so they knew each other later and Edie modeled for her and shopped at her store. Betsey also did the costumes for Ciao which is why she's on the dvd but i wouldn't consider Betsey as one of the factory regulars.

I agree that sadly Edie was sort of doomed. Even if she never went to the factory she would have found other people to party and do drugs with because that's what she liked to do. She was easily influenced and that's why it's easy to point fingers at all of her old friends. I wish she could have lived longer despite the drugs (like Keith Richards!) but i guess her body was too fragile unlike her spirit.

Yeah she was doomed, not even did she take loads of things that weren't good for her, but she also had an ED. Anyway most of the ppl I've heard talk about her always said that she made ppl feel they had to take care of her, and she kinda knew she was doomed. If she hadn't been troubled I think maybe she would have been very different..

right, he probably was.. but didn't she meet him in the hospital? i wonder what his condition was.

I don't think she met him at the hospital, I've always thought he was like a part of the group of ppl Edie hung out with at the end of her life

awe i didnt know she had an ed!
guaranteed today she would have been diagnosed with bi-polar or add, something of the sort

I've read that he was very kind...It's so sad how Edie died right after they got married:(
are you talking about john cale or edie's husband? because she did meet michael in a hospital, john was part of the velvet underground

I actually thought I was talking about Edie's husband, I kinda got confused :innocent::blush:. But anyway, are you sure she met Micheal Post in a hospital?

She did. He states in "Edie: An American Girl" that he was in the same hospital as her, trying to kick a drug habit and that she walked into his room, talked with him, etc etc
