Well she was talking about him in the context of people who use their natural vocal rangwe to their advantage, so I think that's what she meant...

anyone know who designed that black suit she's wearing?
The black suit is Ralph Lauren (the blue dress in the other pics is Peter Som)

Happy Now is a little know film starring Emmy in a dual role. It deals with a small Welsh town where a young beauty queen was murdered. Several years later, a look-alike moves to town and the killers get scared. The film is a dark comedy. It also stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Om Puri, and Richard Coyle. It is currently unavailable in the US. However this is an online petition to get the film a US region 1 DVD release. Small piece about Emmy's style in an Austrailian magazine:

Helen Lee - April 2005
erossum.jpg

It's hard to believe Emmy Rossum is just 18, she seems to have appeared on every magazine covers around the world (including the gorgeous Teen Vogue cover in March 2005). There is just a classic beauty about this girl. Every time she steps out on to a red carpet she looks too cool and sophisticated for her age. All this and she hasn't yet feuded with another teen actress or starred in yet another reality television show.

Emmy take us all back to a time when fashion was about looking sleek and pulled together, a time where fashion was about the design of the outfit, it's cut, it's ability to bring out the inner sophisticated woman inside of you. It's no wonder they cast her as Christine, the young opera singer who become's the Phantom's obsession in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera - the screen adaptation

As an only child and born and bred New Yorker, Emmy knows good fashion when she see's it, naming Ralph Lauren as one of her favourite designers and wearing stunning dresses straight off the catwalk by people like Oscar de la Renta. She loves your classic black, white and dark red's combinations, but when she's ready for a bit of girly fun she's often gone for the girly pastels like sky blue and pink. It's no fuss, simple and chic.

So why not add some sleek and chic to your wardrobe and bring out the inner sophisticated woman in you!

^ I know, but it comes as a bit of a shock when you go through this thread. Pages and pages of elegant dresses in pastels and suddenly *insanely pink 80s dress!*

She dresses like an older kept woman. She's pretty but could stand to inject a little youth and fun into her style.

I like that her style is simple, sophistacted, and elegant. I think it really makes her stand apart.

This is from a 2004 YM feature from the set of The Day After Tomorrow:

Emmy Rossum
Where you've seen her: As the slain daughter in Mystic River

She plays: Laura, whom Emmy describes as "the smart and determined team leader. She knows what she wants and understands how to get it." She's also the object of affection for Sam and J.D. Lucky girl!

Hardest part to film: She can't pick just one. "We go through so much stress," says Emmy, 17. "Running through the water with the wind and rain was tough. Plus, all the emotional stuff. Sam almost drowns and I'm saving him, and almost die, and he is saving me — we all almost die."

Fave on-set pastime: Watching the Food Network. "But it makes me hungry and then I have to go make whatever they're cooking," says Emmy. "I'm a good cook. I'm a little Emeril in the kitchen. Bam! Bam! Bam!" Her second favorite way to spend the day: "Beating up on the guys," says Emmy. "I take kickboxing, and I use it on them all the time."

Secret talent: Opera. From ages 7 to 11, she sang with the children's chorus at New York City's Metropolitan Opera.

Reality check: Emmy says she'll never get a big head because her friends won't let her. "They're like, 'You are not that cool. Remember that we know that you sleep with your mouth open!' "

Where you'll see her next: As the lead in The Phantom of the Opera
