^ and the thing is, she wasn't popular at all at that Spence school she went to.

I've heared somewhere in a magazine that the girls in her school wasnt that nice to her, when she's not that famous, and now that she is, those girls wants to be bestfriends with her and calling her to have lunch, but now shes too busy for those girls. Something like that.

Yup, I think that was in one of her magazine interviews. She didn't have many friends in Spence. She was kind of an outcast. I can't imagine going to that school. My cousins go there with some of the wealthiest people in Manhattan's kids. Gwenyth Paltrow went there. Katie Couric, Sojourney Weaver, and I believe Kevin Kline's daughters go there. But apparently the school is quite proud of their reputation and who went there, because even though Emmy went there for a short while, the school likes to make sure everyone knows she was a "Spence Girl". My cousins knew all about her after Phantom came out.

Awww, I was an outcast too before, or sometimes. I hate people who are like " Oh I dont like her because she's not cute enough or not rich enough:yuk:

The spence girls who were in her year actually deny that and hate her for saying it cause apparently it was the other way around, that she was mean to them or a couple of them when she went to spence and none of them tried contacting her afterwards. They're quite nice people and they're not malicious really when it comes to emmy. One of them says "She has a lot of talent and really deserves what she's got at the moment but I don't like her as a person" so who knows what to believe. On one had we have a celebrity who's paid to lie on a screen and has to keep a good public face if she wants to get jobs, on the other hand we have the people who went to her school who are supposedly shallow. Either could lie for their own reasons, either could also be telling the truth. I'm keeping an open mind until I meet her personally.

I'm a little confused.....
I think Emmy is a really nice person!

Anyway, she could be a model, because she's tall, talented, beautiful, and she's photogenic too. I could just imagine her on the catwalk.

What do you guys think?:flower:

Well, she's definately pretty enough, but she's only 5"7, and most runway models are 5"8 or taller. Plus, I think she's too talented for modeling. She's got a ton of potential between her acting chops and her singing voice. She's probably going to be working hard to develop both in the next few years. And she's got her studies at Columbia in her spare time! I don't know if she'd have the time to model.

I also don't think it would be suited to her personality. Emmy has said that she wants a say in everything she does, from movies to photoshoots. If she's told to pose in a way, or wear somethng that she feels doesn't reflect who she is, she won't do it. She said this in Elle: "sometimes I don't want to wear a certain dress, say, because I don't think it reflects who I am, so I'll choose another dress or eyeliner or whatever". A model pretty much has to wear what their told, walk where their told, and pose how they're told. Patrick Wilson (her Phantom costar) said that she's very collaborative, and she's said that she enjoys working with talented, accomplished people and learning from them. Most models aren't given the opportunity for collaboration.

As for whether or not she mean, who knows? I think she seems like a nice person but also very savvy, assertive, confident and intelligent (which is often interpreted as bitchy in women). She's said she felt uncomfortable at school. Here's the bit from the Elle article: "she attended Spence, the tony all-girls prep school (Gwyneth's alma mater). She was, she insists, “the least posh girl there. I was totally, totally unpopular.” Rossum now thinks her failure to fit in was for the best. “The truth is, I probably didn't want to be friends with some of those girls because I found that a lot of their values were a little specious,” she says, noting that having the right Gucci bag has never been her priority. “Now of course all those girls are calling me and being like, 'We should have lunch!' And I'm like, Um…don't you remember how you didn't like me that much?” Meanwhile some of the girls who went to school with her said that she was stuck up and didn't want anythng to do with them etc. Which is quite possible- it sounds she didn't make an effort to make friends with the girls she went to school with, because she felt that she didn't have muxh in common with them.

Overall, I think she seems like a decent, nice enough person, who has a strong personality which sometimes makes her diffcult to get along with. But I've never met her so I really can't say.

But she's also a celebrity who is sometimes told what to say so that she can have a good face in the public. She could be lying. Who knows (just trying to level it out with both sides of the argument but can't be bothered elaborating today... too hungry)

You know, I'm certain that if I were a celebrity I'd say "In high school people thought I was a lesbian.... not that there was anything wrong with being a lesbian."

A lesbian who's obsessed with Gerry Butler and wants to marry the Phantom... yes ... that works.

That's true. But in this case I don't know if there's a question, really. She said she disn't get along with her schoolmates, and they say the same thing. She says she didn't have anything in common with them, and had trouble with their values so she distanced herself, they say she was distant for whatever reason (possibly that she thought she was better than them- which she pretty much said when she spoke about how she felt that they had bad values). It just seems like everyone agress. do you know what I mean?

I know what you mean but they actually say she was mean and she had all the latest fashionable stuff and bagged out a girl that didn't have the stuff she had and didn't like all the things she liked. I'm not trusting either of them completely though. Emmy seems nice sometimes, other times she seems stuck up. Much like me. I don't think I'm stuck up. But today I felt like a b*tch for speaking badly about some people I know behind their back. But I had to vent cause I was feeling annoyed. I couldn't help it. Again, I'm just showing two sides to the argument. I don't really have a preference to either. I just take this side that I'm arguing cause it's a road less taken or rather no one's taking this side right now.

btw. Angelina Jolie recently wore a dress Emmy wore. I don't know who it looks better and I don't know how to post pictures so I won't bother and I can't be bothered comparing. Gee I'm lazy aren't I?
