Emmy Rossum

I still don't really trust her acting ability that much. Yes she has talent but I doubt she'd ever be as good as the best. ... ever. And I can see where Hautefashion is coming from about the sparkle in the eyes. Some times her eyes are very unexpressive. The smile doesn't reach them. A series of photos that I keep having in mind for this is from Anne Frank whatsits. There's a whole bunch of close ups of her face and her eyes are so ... dull. Other times she has gorgeous eyes but I do see we're Hautefashion's coming from.

I wouldn't call her the most exciting performer to come along. Not cause she doesn't go to parties etc. But I still see her crying often as exactly the same in every movie. (I know lostgirl, we've been through this before but I still stand by my opinion) And yeah, she can sing but she needs a lot of improvement, technically. Same with acting. She has A LOT of room for improvement. I know a great actor when I see one. She's not it. She's not bad. She's not terrible. She has talent but she does need a lot of work on it.

Points for emmy? I love her style. Except for that black outfit. that was horrible. I really didn't like it. I don't care how much ralph she wears it all looks beautifully classy to me. (again, except that black outfit. Then there was that horrible grey outfit which was just..... boring.) And she has a pretty voice. And she's going to get somewhere but cause you can see that she's motivated and determined and very ambitious.

You know who I reckon is REALLY pretty and a good actress? Tara Morice. From Strictly Ballroom. She's gorgeous. Prettier than Emmy in my opinion. She's so cool. So is Paul Mercurio! What hip movements. I'm hoping to get the soundtrack tomorrow! YAY!

You might want to try and stay out of her forum then. I wouldn't want to read the news headline: FASHION FAN KILLS THEMSELF OVER ACTRESS' DULL TASTE IN CLOTHING :(

^^ HAHAHA!

sad at the same time but funny too. Yeah don't *************. It wouldn't be very pleasant.

Thats what i've just done for the past 2 days untill i realised how rude your suggestions are. I am entitled to express my opinion and perhaps my comical tone was somewhat harsh and offensive it was not indecent or bodering on unaccaptable. I am civil in my opinion and i dont tell people to shut up like some nimwit school kid with behavioural problems and an overwhelming desire for attention from my peers. How contridictory of your name "simple elegance" because your present yourself in an undeniably immature way. Anything but "elegant" i assure you. I'm inclined to agree with the choice of "SIMPLE" in your name for it is a clear reflection of your state of mind.

No problem. After further review i agree she is definatley different. The girl has an obvious tendancy to wear elegant, flattering, sophisticated gowns the showcase her maturity. I dont know if conservatisim is what shes being told to base her dresscode on or what, but her clothes tend to be too old for her. I dont want to see her in ralph lauren or black chanel! try some mathew willamson or Pucci, something bold and printed, just to show that she embraces her youth. Her career will never take off unless there is some sort of intrest in her, and to raise status it helps to be at LAX or Mood some nights and doing magazine covers. She's doing herself no favours adpoting a granny's frame of mind

Soubrette: I wouldn't call Emmy the "best" at what she does by any means. I just meant that she has the potential to be great someday. Given her strong ambition and work ethic I think that she'll be able to improve a lot in the years to come. Not as many young actresses show the same potential that Emmy does- she has raw material: a sense of emotional connection to her roles and a lovely voice. Now she has to hone her craft. And a lot (I won't mention names) seem more intersted in partying than working. Emmy seems very serious about her job, so I think she'll be around for a while

HauteFashion:I think that if Emmy were seen clubbing an partying she'd become more known as a "celebrity". But IMO that's not necessarily a good thing. I don't think she's a interested in being "famous" as in being "successful" in terms of doing her best job she can in her films. I like that she's not splahed across every tabloid. A lot of celebs court that attention, but Emmy seems more low-key in that regard.

I sooooo agree with lostgirl!;) She's a really great actress. I cried a lot in "The Phantom of the opera" and its all because of how she acts, cries, her emotions, and her facial expressions really shows what she's feeling inside. She's one of my favorite actresses. She has potential. And she's very serious about her job. IMO, its better that she focus on her job than to party too much.

I also love the clothes that she wears, at least its safe. Actors should be role models. IMO, they shouldnt be wearing anything thats too much sexy. And she's very elegant and classic too.

I cant wait to see Poseidon adventure. I'm so exited. :woot: I hope to see more of Emmy. I know she will make it. I also like her voice, eventhough its not that very operatic in "the phantom" than it should be. I still love her voice.

I love this thread keep it up, I dont disagree with anyone, its good that you guys post your own opinions.:flower:

they're making a movie of "A Million Little Pieces, " the Oprah Book Club book. Emmy's vying for the role of Lily.

this is from emmy-rossum.net:
"THE movie adaptation of James Frey’s harrowing rehab memoir, “A Million Little Pieces,” is not going well. We’re told director Laurence Dunmore left the project in frustration a few months ago, and Frey himself is steamed that his script has been revised so many times by writer Kip Williams that it no longer resembles his acclaimed book. Even so, Jake Gyllenhaal, Orlando Bloom, Josh Hartnett and Ryan Gosling have all expressed interest in playing Frey in the film, while Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Emmy Rossum and Rachel McAdams are said to be itching to portray Lily, the troubled girl whom Frey falls for in rehab. Frey — who will appear on “Oprah” tomorrow to plug his book — declined comment."

I think Emmy would be a good lilly but I'd prefer Jake or Ryan as Frey

Well well well, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I just think they're both better actors than Josh- she worked with Jake but this is such a different project. Ryan Gosling was in The Notebook, The Believer, Stay, Murder By Numbers... I think Josh is more handsome, but he's never impressed me as an actor.

Josh Hartnett annoys me to no end. he's not even good-looking. i want Orlando Bloom to try it. he needs to branch out more.

I'm sorry, but I think Orlando is a terrible actor. Which is a shame cause he seems so sweet and is so good looking but he's a terrible actor. I like Ryan though. He's cool.

I love Rachel McAdams. She's amazing. She's a great actress.

I like Rachel too- but I think she might be a little old for this particular part. Scarlett Johanson might be good. I could see her or Emmy in the role, but I think they'd each have a VERY different interpretation of the character (though that's based their past work- either one might surprise me) I just hope it doesn't go to Lindsey Lohan...
BTW- I'm afraid I agree about Orlando. I was hoping Elizabethtown would change my mind about him, but alas it didn't
