Erin Fetherston For Target

i'm not too worried about the line looking too adolescent. the go target consumer is 15-25 anyway.

and H&M right now is absolutely SWIMMING in pinafores with pockets, jumper dresses, babydoll dresses babyish looking stuff. i think a lot of retailers consider this a new silhouette and we will be seeing it everywhere for the next few years.

But isn't that what's hot on the "streets" for the common right now?

If none of us were here reading up on the new trends and wouldn't be informed on what's new and what's going on, we would think that what H&M, Target and Forever 21 is actually the hot thing right now, cause these silhouettes are being exploded and over exposed EVERYWHERE.

Its sad. They're catering to their customers and the customer that knows whats going on, will only buy certain pieces that can be incorporated in their closet. The money makers are those lame pieces that we look over but others will drool over for.

i was DEFINITELY blushing when i read an interview with the target VP saying the target market for go was 15-25. im a teensy bit older than 25.

but i can really picture this erin fetherston for target line on celebs like zoey deschanel and kirsten dunst. folks that are around my age. im cheered by that. ;)

i like erin fetherston's stuff, but i can tell this is way too cutesy for me. i would have been ALL over it when i was 19, though.

whew! that just means i can save my money more for alice temperley's line!

see, I'm 19 and I feel too old for a lot it. Then again, I'm not too much into the cutesy look. I do like hearts though :ninja:, just not on leggings and such

oh, i didn't want to imply that only teenagers could wear it! i think it's all about your personal style and right now mine isn't at all cutesy, which is why i'll probably pick up very little from this range. my style was very indie pop retro, though, when i was 19 (quite a bit of time ago ) and i probably would have loved this then, back when i was wearing little jackie o coats and mary janes...now, though, i find clothes like rompers and pinafores and jumpers almost infantilizing. i certainly can't go into a meeting with a producer and expect them to invest in a project when i look like a little girl, you know?

I'm in the same boat as you; I'd feel a bit ridiculous wearing these pieces, myself. That's not to say that they're unattractive, however.

i find erin fetherston and her target collection so..cringey.

i know some people like it for its cuteness but havent we seen all this but more unique and distinctive in H&M, Topshop etc?

this is like a very generic, crayon version of better high street.

also; i'm kind of turned off by Erin Fetherston's rise using contacts ( Which is quite unreasonable of me i know) without having a real design vision or creativity IMO.

Well, Looks like I'll be saving my money on this line. These clothes are cringeworthy. Is the whole Lolita thing still in? Even Libertine has a few pieces I could see myself in but this line is utterly ridiculous and costumey.

Temperley and Vera Wang for Kohl's can't come soon enough.

i'm 23 and i think i could make some of these pieces work for me...
as long as you mix and match to truly make something "you" it can work...

but only if you actually like the pieces..
i think that long sweater top thing in the second picture is GREAT.. looks very comfy
and some of the dresses are quite sweet--accessorized the right way for ME they could really work

i'm kind of excited about this after seeing the pictures ^_^

Guilty admission: I really like the cutesier side of Erin. I think paired with some more sophisticated pieces, some that are more refined, this collection could really work.

I'm curious, how or where do you wear a bibbed babydoll dress once you are out of adolescence? It just doesn't seem right for work or school.

I cannot wait for this, I think it's really rather beautiful! I love the coat, the tiered dress (though I don't think it's something I'll be purchasing), and the dresses. I think they're going to be beautiful, light pieces to add to my closet.

I like the ruby red wide loose headband a lot. I'm going to have to fashion one for myself... but over all it's so nursery school. I'm 25. seriously, I was over frocks like this right around elementary school.

I think if I broke up some of the stuff, I'd wear it. I like the cream coat and the yellow shirt dress.

Peter Pan collars? Puffed sleeves? Bib fronts? If I was a ****** on a budget, this collection would be heaven.

^ thanks, novella!

okay, just as i was saying there was nothing in this collection for me...i think i might like that velvet jacket. i think the chiffon dresses could be really pretty, too, although i think they may make me look like a birthday cake since i'm fairly petite.

I'm within this age range and I wouldn't buy this sh**. It has crossed the tween line to far. I understand this is her "girly" aesthetic, but it lacks any sophistication!!
