Loveed the idea of Versace liked look together a Kate, Angela, Carolyn, Christy and Daria more by Testino:woot:

Its time for Versace to take the chick and glamour they had before back from Cavalli....how Gianni did it? He was Genius but still the Wonderful Supermodels Like Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss and Naomi (even keeping up in FB thanks to the scandals what is not a good point for a professional) Amber Valleta...they still look splendid...Why Donatella don't take them back together...creates as a gorgeous team and add some chick–gorgeous the likes Doutzen, Natalia Vodionova or Isabeli...Darya and Carmen...Like all time great Versace girls together... Oh Gisele (eve I don’t really like her) and Stephanie…would suit that team great…

^ yes and the campaigns are not even out yet:D lots of speculation and discussion going on here.

BTW I forgot to mention but I have a source who says Cavalli is Daria Werbowy only girl campaign (No Du Juan). I don't know what to believe, but I'm curious.

I also didn't know Caroline Trentini is doing Dior accessories. :flower: :D

Speaking of Asian models - I don't believe Hye Park has GAP any longer...

i just don't see carolyn murphy or angela lindvall working for versace...
but i am happy they have returned to models this season...
i would have loved to seen tasha tilberg, hilary rhoda, or irina in the ads...
they looked so fierce on the runway...

i know my opinion is very different that most people in the thread, but i dont see christy and kate getting a campaign as a success for models. they are basically celebrities at this point, so really, its not different than halle berry doing the campaign except they could maybe pose better

I think that people are choosing all of these supers because they sell... if the supers do well this upcoming season, peoople are either going to start using the supers again, or top models are going to start looking healthier and better looking (I hope it's the latter!) :flower: :woot:

That would be cool too. Remember that guy who said that every campaign for last fall would go to Daria (lol)

At the time I though big = houses that everyone knows about aka Prada, Versace, Armani, Gucci.

I'm hoping that the return of the supers will bring the return of the famous model. Hopefully using the classic supers that the average person on the street recognizes will bring a greater fashion awareness....which will in turn open the doors for people to start paying attention to models again. That's why I think it's a great idea to mingle the big girls w/new girls....when people see Kate and Christy they will wonder who Daria is (cause I'm sure Daria isn't as yet identifiable to the ave. person); same with the LV campaign. I'm hoping the return of the model is imminent; I'm so sick of celebs! Once we see a real model on the cover of US vogue, that will be the day I think.

Hm, recent Chinese press report:

Du Juan will be the face of YSL, Roberto Cavalli, Gap, and Swrovski's Fall/Winter worldwide campaigns.

Chinese supermodel Du Juan is displaying immense amounts of potential. This beautiful girl is like a rising star of the moment, continuously amazing the fashion world.

Penny Reports: Du Juan will be the worldwide campaign model for Louis Vuitton.

As autumn looms near, Du Juan will appear in the advertisements for many of the world's most favorite brands -- for an Asian model, this is unprecedented!

(Then it's a caption of a picture: Du Juan backstage at Paco Rabanne, YSL, JPG)

Du Juan recently finished the shoot for YSL's campaign in Paris with Juergen Teller. On the same day, she flew to New York City to work with renowned photographers Mert and Marcus and also Daria Werbowy, one of the most prominent supermodels of today. Together, they shot the Robert Cavalli campaign; The next day, Du Juan worked with photographer David Sims, shooting the ads for American brand Gap. Additionally, she also took part in the Swarovski ad campaign shoot with Craig McDean. Craig McDean will aos be inviting Du Juan for an editorial in Vogue Paris. The photographs will appear in the next issue of the publication.

After debuting on the Paris runways for the first time in January of this year, this young model's appeal has become almost incomprehensible and unstoppable. She has already worked with some of the brightest stars of the modeling and photography world. Recently, after being featured in Paris Vogue's editorial by Mario Testino, the fashion world has noticed her. This week, she will participate in an important style editorial with Mert and Marcus for an upcoming issue of W magazine.

Du Juan has also received the praise of American designer Oscar de la Renta. Oscar, who brought Du Juan with her to the Oprah Winfrey Show, also invited her to walk for his FW06 bridal runway show, which Du opened and closed (These were the pictures I posted a few posts back, but Firstview said it was SS07...).

Du Juan is rising at lightning speed to become fashion's new star. Everyone should look forward to seeing this model in even more groundbreaking fashion-related happenings.

[end]

So as far as I know she's definitely a part of the campaign :)

And can you say BUSY GIRL??

Kind of disappointed in the versace news. It is respectable of them to use models again but I dont appreciate the idea of using overexposed models like Kate or Gisele or Carolyn. These models should really leave some space to the new generation, thus helping move the modeling industry forward and make some new stars. I don't know why these fashion houses always use the same models in their ads. Are the supers gonna nab campaigns in their 50s and 60s? It's ridiculous. However,I'd like to see Cindy or Christy get Versace since they don't do high fashion very much now (i know christy does chloe this season)and it's just refreshing to see some legendary faces coming back, on conditions that they do it for one season and go.

i still don't like du juan, i think she is totally overated
Well we'll see when the campaigns come out. If she is overated then I dont think we will be seeing her in campaigns for a while as its usually pretty hard to bounce back from a poor debut into the upper echelons of fashion campaign industry (epsecially as she has like 5? 6? this season).

That's what I'm thinking.....I just hope we don't get tired of seeing them like the celebs. I for one won't but probly other's will......but I don't wanta speak to soon models need their jobs back!!!!

Du Juan is pretty! I do think Hye looks better however! I love Hye Park!

I'm glad we won't see any celebs (okay except for Marc Jacobs), but I'm still a bit disappointed because there are a few models who got too much campaigns IMO (Kate Moss, Du Juan, Stella Tennant, Malgosia). I like these models but to give them 4 or even more campaigns is totally ridiculous IMO. There are so many great models left with no big campaigns, and some models don't even have one campaign:blink:

Hye Park is much worse than du,sorry, i think hye park looks really eerie indeed and very shocking in a bad way

Ditto. But maybe it will begin to get better by this, interest in new models/model indrusty increases etc? hah, or then I'm just being too positive. I just feel I rant about everything...

The whole point is that models DO (generally) pose better, look better, project a certain look better. I don't have anything against the photogenic celebs (ie Mischa, Uma etc).

Of course, some very famous supermodels have "lost it" due to a physical or mental aging process while others, like Kate and Linda, have not. The trick is to use the ones that are so great/fascinating looking that they add something to the image, or at least don't detract. That is all clearly very subjective, though ;)

I don't get the need for the comparison. I thought it was completely uncalled for.

But personally, I prefer Hye to Du. Du is very over rated.

And regarding the fact about Supers = Celebs who pose better.

I agree to some extend, however, if it works out it'll be the return of the supermodel era. :woot:  :woot:
