Ann Taylor Loft-Olga Otrokhova/Elite
she`s still alive?? 8o
i remember her in 1995-1997 when she was in underground russian mags alike Ptuch or OM

i think that i'm definitely most excited to see the Versace campaign. but i wish they would've used like 12 of the biggest models, just to really put it out there. generationally different models like Naomi, Christy, Linda ("The Trinity") -- then with the only "supers" of today, Gisele, Karolina, Daria. can you imagine that lineup? i think it would totally rock the world! and certainly bring some attention to the models again.

Gisele and KK are the glamourous models that are reminiscent of the super's era, and Daria can pull that off as well, plus she's definitely the IT girl of right now. and The Trinity IS the essence of Versace.

from to2w:
Byblos - Vitor Bassetto
Cavalli Class - Diana Meszaros
Dolce & Gabbana - Chad Dunn
Emporio Armani - Noah Mills
Giorgio Armani - Andy Richardson
Hermes Perfume - Anna Maria U (dunno if this has anything to do with Camila Finn's one...)
La Perla - Louise Pedersen
Nina Ricci - Behati Prinsloo
Roberto Cavalli - Lily D (funnily it just says lily d...not anyone else on the list...)
Trussardi - Louise Pedersen (once again its just Louise. no one else...)
Trussardi Jeans - Anthony Vibert

diversity implies that everyone (all races) are getting campaigns...

Sherlock :p
I just meant that asian girls(well mostly Du) are getting more campaigns. Usually caucasian girls get all the big ones Du is getting now, non?

Du is getting all the campaigns for asian models, well Han has one too. But Hye and Ai don't have any, so it really isn't as diverse IMO, though I think I get what you mean.

I'd have to agree...just because one model is doing very well, even if she is a minority, doesn't really mean anything for her race. Liya was getting a lot of campaigns a few years ago, but it hasn't changed anything in the fashion industry that much. Just look at how only one black girl has a campaign so far. And there is certainly no shortage of pretty black girls (Emanuela de Paula, Jaunel McKenzie, Oluchi).

Except that they tried it with Daria/Kate Moss/Gisele in the Gloria Vanderbilt campaign and it was trash.

That's only because they were modeling horrible jeans with ugly frizzed out hair and terrible styling in general. I for one loved the Sep 2004 cover of Vogue, with Daria/Natalia V/Gisele.

Gloria Vanderbilt would have been crap even if Richard Avedon would have photographed it. Nobody had high hopes for it.

Callidora, you're right that cover was very beautiful.

Well, Naomi and Liya are the only black models who have established themselves in the industry (alek aswell).

i guess my point was that someone has to give you a chance before you can establish yourself...
look at hye (prada), nadine wills (gucci), liya (gucci again during the tom ford era)...
all these girls were given a shot by a photographer, designer, etc...
