I know it's not the campaign, but can I just say that I would have loooved it if it was! It's amazing!
kidnappedculture.comThe often criticized for liberally applying other artists‘ works to their own, Florence + The Machine just dropped a video for yet another cover song. This time it’s Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away,” but this time with a Southern flair twist. The track is part of a Buddy Holly tribute album out later this month and features Cee-Lo Green, Karen Elson, Patti Smith, and Julian Casablancas amongst others. Flo + co. apparently have the lead track and it’s a smart move on the record company’s part because they seem to be on the verge of super-mega-stardom. Any ****ing way, I’m lukewarm about the song, but the video is great. I think the director intended the clip to be offbeat and creepy with the macabre Dia De Los Muertos make-up, Flo frolicking in the cemetery, but it ends up feeling contrived and reads more like a True Blood intro meets a Levi’s advert. That said, I still feel the video is good given what’s out there at the minute. Flo is at least serving me some flavor. I love me some black and white photography and dead man walking make-up. Also, Flo is on the cover of this month’s NYLON music issue. She looks good as usual. Even though she steals and is rumored homewrecker, I still love a saucy ginger girl and acts like a male. I will follow. In addition, Flo was Gucci Autumn/Winter 2011′s muse and inspiration. It was just announced that she will also be the face for Gucci’s fall 2011 campaign. Ma-jor!
vogue.co.ukFRIDA GIANNINI has described Florence Welch as her inspiration for Gucci's autumn/winter 2011 offering.
"As I was imagining this collection I was thinking of a strong and somewhat mysterious muse. Florence is that kind of woman," she explained. "I met her in Los Angeles at this year's Grammys and was captivated by her presence. She has a powerful personality and an entrancing quality to her performances. She also has that confident and self assured look that goes hand in hand with the Gucci woman."
Having picked Mark Ronson, Rihanna and James Franco to appear in previous Gucci campaigns, Giannini believes she has an eye for emerging talent.
"I chose to work with all three of them before they became as popular culturally as they are today," she told Dazed Digital. "I think Gucci has been successful in bridging past and present. We have a rich and storied past, but we always have an eye to the future, which these collaborations represent."

I often get to shoot models in and around Paris, on a purely casual basis, but it isn’t that often I see them at work. Whilst riding through Paris last Thursday I spotted a shoot on the edge of Concorde, so pulled over to see what was happening. Security was tight so I couldn’t get any closer, but it seems Jac was dressed head to toe in Dior for this one, not sure if it was a shoot for the company, or an editorial.
Apologies for the quality, I had to resort to my cell phone as only had an Olympus Trip-35 with me.
Enjoy.
Please God, that can't be Prada campaign!!! It ahs to be some crappy ed form Vogue China or Nippon!
Omg! Ming!!!!!!!! I Die!
Supposedly it's just an editorial shot not the campaign?
Pity, Ming would be perfect. I love the clinical feel of the shot. This makes me realize how perfect Ming would be for Prada.
Crappy ed from Vogue China? Please, China is one of the best Vogue editions that consistently deliver exceptional editorials.
