Female Models in Men's Fashion Shows

I have seen that quite a few times, recently. Is this a new trend, or did I just not notice it before?

The first time I remember seeing it on major scale was women walking in the Prada Mens Fall 2010 show.

Not really a trend, designers have been doing that for a while. Some like to show the Resort/Pre-Fall collections on the mens shows (Prada is doing a lot lately, McQueen used to do too); some more menswear oriented designers use the mens shows to introduce their womenswear; others like to show the mens and womens collection altogether(Helmut Lang, Michael Kors + some others in the 90's). Overall I think for a lot of them, showing mens and womens tells a more complete story.

^Yeah, I don't see how this is about the models. I'm sure there have been a few shows where female models wore menswear in a men's fashion show (Julia Nobis at SLP, Saskia de Brauw at Givenchy?), but usually I would say the designer's decision is about wanting to include womenswear looks in a men's show, not about wanting to book female models.

No, I don't mean a "mixed" show of male and female clothing, I really meant men's clothes worn by women in a fashion show. One example would be Prada indeed; the most recent example was
Kolor FW 2014 in Paris

I was wondering what the resons might be? More attention which is usually attributed with female models?

On the other hand, this appears to be much less controversial than men modeling women's clothes.

Her latest presentation took the unusual (for Prada) step of mixing men's and women's clothes together, but after it was all over, Miuccia herself insisted there'd always been an umbilical connection between the collections, and, in this particular case, it had been so inescapable that it made perfect sense to show them together. So the pre-fall looks for women shared fabrics, silhouettes, and an enigmatic early-seventies sensibility with the men's clothes for Fall.

They were not menswear looks. Prada has been showing per-collections in some of her menswear shows, but the clothes were not designed for men and worn by women. Unless she did indeed show menswear on women sometime before that?

Not sure about your Kolor example? That brand has always had a rather unisex aesthetic, I can't even tell if those are menswear looks on the women or not
