That's correct, I'm not Taiwanese, but that fact has no relevance to my comment.

Taiwan as a seperate nationality isn't recognized anywhere in the world but within Taiwan itself. Unless you consider the opinions of the Taiwanese people to be more important than that of the rest of the world, the argument that Taiwanese should be considered as a seperate entity from Chinese is null.

I can see how Taiwanese people might not like that fact, but that's exactly what it is, a fact that no one can argue agaisnt. So I suggest simply dropping this line of political debate altogether, and return to the discussion of Asian male models.
let me clarify my point...
While it is obvious that Taiwan is not itself a seperate nation from China, it is felt by the people that it SHOULD be. I don't know a lot about Taiwan/China politics, but my guess is that there is a desire on Taiwan's part to move in that direction.

and yes, the debate should be dropped, lest i get yelled at  [/b][/quote]
thank u whereisthatsusu...
i'm happy and ooooh i'm glad to c some ppl from Tw in the fashion spot
and yeah of course we should drop this line of political debate, but just b4 doing so, just wanna say i'm proud of being a Taiwanese, chinese<= ah ah...thanks but no, goodbye...

btw how about Jerry Huang? he used to a model, but became an actor now...
he's 6' 11 or higher? (193cm would be??)

wow, is he mixed at all?? i neeever see anyone that tall when i visit Taiwan.

his face is pretty plain though...

one more Jerry Huang...can't find bigger pic...
he's not mixed at all he said...but he really looks like mixed....
he won a model champion in 2002 in China... can't remember the title of the contest...

don't be sorry Dior... that's just ur own opinion...eh... :ninja

i just wanted to say that real taiwanese people, as in the indigenous one that were there before all the people fled there, are closer to philipino/polynesian looking -

why do people think asian people are so incredibly short. i'm 5'10 and i'm one of the short guys in my family. i went out to eat a chinese restaurant yesterday and there were a good number of asian guys there that were my height or taller. just from the way it sounds people think the entire asian race is below 5'8.

i wonder when asian male models will be appreciated for having more asian features than western features, ya know what i mean? every asian model we've listed here has either been mixed, has had plastic surgery etc. i mean i know a strong jawline is what they look for in all male models but i wonder when smaller eyes or noses without strong bridges will be considered beautiful.

its weird, even asian culture looks to western culture for their concept of ideal beauty. for example, eye creases. i know girls that have gotten plastic surgery to have eye creases so they look more western looking. apparently its done frequently over seas.

I totally agree with you on appreciating Asian features seperately from "western" features, but don't really know what to say...

I hope this does not offend anyone, because this is in my own opinion - the whole eye surgery thing is ridiculous. I've seen a lot of girls who've gotten this surgery, and IMHO they look much better without the creases. If you're not born with creases, then don't get them! I don't really have creases, but there is no way in hell I am going to get them.

IMO, I'd say that's probably because it is generally the case. In terms of comparison against against other races, asians are shorter. Yes there are exceptions (I'm bordering on 5'10 myself) and yes I think the generalisation that 'all asians are short' sucks, but that's simply how it is

whereisthatsusu, i also agree that eyelid surgery just doesnt turn out good most of the time. I've seen it on many girls and it's so obvious and looks very unnatural

just my opinion

It's one thing to distinguish a person's specific background, but it's quite another to say which background has better looking people.
I agree.

I am a Korean male and I believe Korean men are far superior than Korean women. Check your avator because if the women were better they would be doing ENC,Anna Sui,ASK and others.

Is there a good magazine with pictures of male and female asian models/actors/pop stars? Written in English, that is! I'm in S. Ca, USA and I love this topic of all the good looking actors!

Just came across this thread while I was searching for pictures of Iseya Yusuke.

Are these the only two shows he did? Prada Spring 98 and Fall 98? Are there more pictures of him from his modeling days? Anyone know?

I think Korea is full of hotttt asian guys, while countries like Japan and China tend to have more gorgeous girls.
